YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES WITH US

• You will be part of a global Life Science team and you will be working on the design and implementation of a new end-to-end data ecosystem for different business units of a pharmaceutical customer.
• You build cloud-native data platforms which serve as the basis for implementation of different use cases in R&D and Manufacturing.
• You design, develop, and maintain efficient, reliable, and scalable backend systems.
• You collaborate with frontend developers, product managers, and designers to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• You write clean, well-documented, and testable code.
• You optimize application performance and ensure high availability and scalability.
• You identify and address potential security and performance vulnerabilities.
• You participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to peers.
• You communicate to business stakeholders to set / manage delivery expectations and timelines.
• You stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in backend development.
• You work closely together with customers domains experts on solution for drug discovery, clinical study design, clinical trial planning and operations, self-service applications and automation for labs, anomaly detection in production and many others.

YOU CONVINCE US WITH

• Proven work experience of minimum 6 years as a Senior Backend Developer or similar role, with a focus on building complex web applications.
• Strong experience in Python backends and related frameworks (e.g., Django, Flask, FastAPI).
• Strong experience in cloud platforms (AWS is preferrable; Azure or Google Cloud) and their services (e.g., EC2, S3, Lambda etc...).
• Strong infrastructure knowledge, including “Infrastructure as Code” (e.g. Terraform).
• Strong experience with relational and non-relational databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB).
• Knowledge of containerization technologies (e.g., Docker) and orchestration tools (e.g., Kubernetes).
• Strong expertise of RestAPI design and implementation.
• Solid understanding of software engineering principles, design patterns, and best practices, architectural solutions (e.g. microservices).
• Experience in Single Sign On, LDAP, Search Technologies are a plus.
• Knowledge of CI/CD tools.
• Solid experience with code versioning (Git).
• Familiarity with frontend technologies and frameworks (e.g., JavaScript, React, Angular) is a plus in order to collaborate effectively with frontend developers.
• Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and within a team.
• Excellent analytical thinking, problem solving, good communication and collaboration skills.
• A structured way of working and very good English skills. German language is an advantages
