Backend Developer (GraphQL) (Mittanbud)

Mittanbud is the largest tender service in Norway , established in 2009. It acts as an intermediary in tenders to over 30.000 suppliers throughout the country. Every week, it sends 5.000 new work assignments to companies registered on the Mittanbud platform.

In 2022 the Finnish version, Remppatori, was launched with more countries coming soon.

Mittanbud product is developed by the teams located in two offices: Oslo and Gdańsk.

On the Norwegian side, we have several teams we work with. These are back-end DevOps developers, SQA, data and front-end developers. In total, there are about 40 people associated with the office in Oslo.

In the Gdańsk office, we’re 6 people working with the frontend (web & native), backend and dev-ops. We want the Gdańsk team to grow and expand its competencies and responsibilities.**

We offer you a job in a very stable and mature project, with a harmonious team of experienced engineers. We are going to implement our solutions in new markets, therefore we are enlarging our teams.

Your daily work will be to maintain and develop the GQL layer of data. We will familiarise you with the services that provide the whole data. We'll teach you how and where to query the data so that in a short time you'll be able to not only maintain the current service but also add new APIs.

The whole backend service is developed in a separate team, so your role in that case is just to be in touch with them, and ask them for new features when necessary. But we expect you to know PHP well enough to read the code.

We expect you have good skills and experience with:

  • Apollo GraphQL Server & NodeJS

  • TypeScript

  • PHP & Microservices architecture

We do not expect you to know all of them, but it would be great if you have experience with some of the following tools/technologies:

  • Elasticsearch

  • SQL

  • Docker / Kubernetes

  • AWS

  • You enjoy getting things done.

  • You communicate freely in Polish and English

  • You’re ready for trips to Oslo at least twice a Year

  • You enjoy working with people, sharing your knowledge and helping others resolve problems

  • You are flexible and capable of working alone or in the team

  • You have an interest and ability to quickly learn new technologies

  • You have the ability to self-organise and push for improvement (you have a strong influence on tech-stack!)

  • You might not know everything, but you are curious and eager to learn

Great Place to Work

  • Social benefits (multisport, health care etc)

  • Individual training budgets

  • In-house English lessons

  • Flexible working hours

  • Relocation package

  • 4 additional vacation days

  • 2 additional weeks of paternal leave

  • Modern tools and needed equipment

  • Ergonomic workplace
