Startup Partner:Shekel Mobility

Shekel is a Neo banking and management system for auto dealers. Their platform provides financial services to local dealers and also powers cross-border transactions by connecting virtual dealers in any part of the world with local dealers.

Engagement Description

The team is seeking a Head of Finance to partner with the executive team and oversee the finance, risk management operations, and administrative functions of the company. You will lead the development and implementation of financial and operational strategies, and assume leadership in delivering on the financial performance metrics of the company.

Additionally, you will be responsible for driving the ongoing development and monitoring of control systems designed to preserve company assets and report accurate financial results.


Some of the initial responsibilities you'll be saddled with include to:

  • Serve as the principal executive responsible for developing and executing financial strategy, budgeting, monitoring financial performance, and reporting, and overseeing treasury management activities in the Company.
  • Lead the Finance Department and ensure the financial integrity of its books, financial processes, procedures, and controls, in accordance with established accounting processes and local laws.
  • Set up and maintain a Financial Reporting system that delivers timely, comprehensive, and accurate Financial and Management Accounts. Provide prompt analysis and recommendations to facilitate effective decision-making for Executive Management and the Board.
  • Offer guidance to Executive Management on all proposals regarding major financial policies of the Company, including but not limited to policies related to cash needs, shareholder distributions, share repurchases, investments, credit control policies, taxation policies, budget, and budgetary control.
  • Define financial targets, such as cash flow, ROI, ROC, PBT, etc., and ensure the sourcing of external debt and equity financing required to support the company’s long-term growth and stability.
  • Establish and maintain an effective financial management framework that covers tax planning, financial control, and management information systems (MIS) processes. This framework supports the Company’s mission and business objectives and enables the effortless production of relevant periodic reports.

Reports to: CEO/COO

Skills & Requirements

  • 7+ years experience, preferably in technology or financial services
  • Professional certification in Accounting or Finance.
  • Excellent working knowledge of relevant IT tools and programs, especially Navision or a similar ERP.
  • Vision, forecasting, and complex budgeting capabilities.
  • Excellent analytical and decision-making skills.
  • Proven track record in promoting process improvement.
  • Extensive knowledge of accounting theories, principles, and applications.
  • Experience in handling and analyzing large datasets.

Nice to have

  • A master's degree in Finance or an MBA
