Summary: ExxonMobil Petroleum & Chemical b.v.b.a. is looking for a Communications Analyst to join its EU Public & Government Affairs team as part of its trainee programme. The selected candidate will work in an engaging environment to contribute to ExxonMobil’s public affairs and outreach activities at the EU and regional levels. The position is based in Brussels and has a six month duration, which may be extended.

Tasks will include, but are not limited to:

  • Providing communications support to EU Public Affairs outreach activities in support of government relations and advocacy, including:
    • development of communications content and material for traditional and social/ digital media
    • stakeholder engagement and event planning and organization
    • assistance with the development of advocacy and communications strategies
    • interacting with external partners, trade associations and specialized agencies
  • Providing internal communications support in the Brussels office.

Skills & Requirements

We are particularly looking for a candidate with:

  • Background in public affairs, communications, media relations or advocacy
  • Expertise in digital and social media development and implementation
  • Strong interpersonal and communications skills, including in an international environment
  • Ability to easily acquire new IT and technology skills
  • Strong analytical capabilities and project management skills
  • Interest in and experience with EU policy developments (ideally in the EU institutions)
  • Good understanding of EU decision-making procedure
  • Excellent written and spoken English
