Senior iOS Developer

We are looking for a passionate and experienced Senior iOS Developer in Nordic Marketplaces.

The world is changing, and the competition around us is increasing. We are on a journey to 10X our positive impact on society and the planet by 2035. Furthermore, we want to transform our services to the next-generation marketplace by taking on an even larger role and responsibility in key user journeys.

Our marketplaces have unique and strong positions as market leaders, with FINN in Norway, Blocket in Sweden, DBA and Bilbasen in Denmark, and Tori and Oikotie in Finland. Together we make up Nordic Marketplaces in Schibsted, collectively connecting millions of buyers and sellers every month. Whether you want to buy a car, a new home, find a job or want a pair of new shoes, you can turn to us.

Introduction

Do you want to be a part of one of the most agile companies in Denmark?

And do you want to grow your competencies by developing some of Denmark’s largest commercial apps (dba and bilbasen)?

We are on a growth journey, and we’re in the process of hiring new engineers.

Our tech department and teams

We have more than 60 engineers in our Aarhus-based tech department. We have the responsibility for all code and systems behind and around dba.dk, bilbasen.dk, and bilinfo.dk.

Our engineers are organized in cross-functional teams. Each team consists of frontend, backend, and mobile developers, a product manager, a product designer, an architect, and a QA engineer. This cross-functionality enables each team to display a high level of autonomy, ability, and power to decide and deliver relatively independently from other teams.

The iOS developer role:

As an iOS developer in the tech department, you will refer to one of the engineering managers, be part of a cross-functional team, and be part of our mobile guild.

As an iOS developer, you will:

  • Work with (and help adopting) latest technologies like SwiftUI and be surrounded by highly skilled colleagues.

  • Produce phenomenal quality by constantly improving, testing new tools, and spending time on training, pairing, and mob programming.

  • Ensure quality by writing automated unit, integration, and UI tests.

  • Collaborate with our Schibsted colleagues in the Nordics around software solutions, using shared services and exchanging knowledge.

  • Take great part in building/shaping new features, from initial ideas to final design, and measure the outcome as well.

Qualifications:

You are an iOS developer with 3 years or more of hands-on experience in iOS development working in a team.

You are able to independently lead the development of new features and enjoy discussing and debating code and solutions with your peers. You like sharing your knowledge with your colleagues. You are curious and continuously strive to learn new things.

We are looking for you who have:

  • Experience with Swift, UIKit and SwiftUI (ObjC knowledge is a plus)

  • A good understanding of Apples frameworks and guidelines

  • Experience testing your own code automatically and manually

  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently

  • Fluent in English verbally and written

It is also beneficial if you have experience or interest in any of the following: CI/CD setup, Swift Packages, Fastlane and designing good Rest APIs.

What we offer

As an employer, we are strongly committed to further developing you both in a practical and personal perspective.

While improving your competencies, you will find interesting career opportunities within Schibsted.

A meaningful work with diverse, international, highly-skilled, and passionate teams gives you a chance to make a difference in our customers’ lives.

A great atmosphere and an open-minded, fun, and inclusive company culture with several social team activities - online and offline.

Hybrid workplace environment with great flexibility and ability to work from home some days each week.
