Northvolt has an opportunity for a Control System Engineer to join our growing in-house engineering team and support the construction of Northvolt’s factories throughout the world. In joining us you will play an important role in building some of the first large scale European battery factories and in the transition to a carbon-free society.
As a Control System Engineer, you will be reporting to the Group Electrical Design Manager and will be responsible of the definition and selection of the control and safety systems required for Northvolt’s projects.
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Understand and assimilate existing instrumentation and control systems design basis and technical specifications for equipment and systems,
• Coordinate, define and validate the internal technical interfaces with the other disciplines and services (Mechanical, Instrumentation, IT, security, Digitalization, Construction, Operation and Maintenance...).
• Analyse and/or define the control and safety requirements and select the technologies to be implemented,
• Creation or review of technical specifications, schematic diagram, network architecture, functional analysis, in line with Northvolt standard ttechnical sspecifications.
• Prepare technical requisition package (equipment specifications, functional specifications, datasheet, scope of work and limit of responsibility…) and perform bid analysis for the control and safety systems.
• Ensure technical review and timely submission of Vendors’ and subcontractors’ technical documentation and data.
• Attendance in design meetings with Suppliers.
• Represent Northvolt during Factory Acceptance Tests.
• Support field engineering and/or construction teams during the project execution phase.
• Client representative during the Site Acceptance Tests for control systems.

We believe that you have :
• Bachelors or Master’s in Electrical engineering
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in engineering studies in control and safety systems for heavy industrial, manufacturing or process facilities such as pharmaceutical, data centres, oil & gas, automotive, food & beverage manufacturing, etc.
• Experience with CAD software (AutoCAD…) is preferred but not required.
• Fluency in English. Valuable (but not required) if fluency in other languages, including Swedish
• Computer literacy (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Project)**
