Northvolt has an exciting job offer for a Senior Design Engineer for Instrumentation and Control Systems to join our growing in-house engineering team and support the construction of Northvolt’s factories throughout the world.In joining us you will play an important role in building some of the first large scale European battery factories and in the transition to a carbon-free society.As the senior Instrumentation and Control system engineer in our engineering group, you will be reporting to the Group Electrical Design Manager and will be responsible for all IC engineering activities required during the concept and basic design phases of Northvolt’s projects

Qualifications/education/experience
<pre>* Bachelors or Master’s in electrical, electronic or mechanical engineering specializing in instrumentation or similar
* Minimum of 10 years of experience in design/engineering for manufacturing or process facilities such as pharmaceutical, data centers, oil & gas, automotive, food & beverage manufacturing, etc.
* Have designed or lead development of instrumentation and control systems to meet demanding requirements on reliability, availability and maintainability.
* Must have good experience in working on major FEED and EPC projects in the process industry.

Specific Skills/Abilities * Excellent English written and oral skills, Swedish or other languages is a plus * Computer literacy (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Project). * Capacity to serve as an area technical lead whilst sharing expertise. * Experience in Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) and Layer of Protection Analysis (LOPA). * Extensive experience of P&ID reviews, HAZOPs and SIL reviews. * Capacity to develop equipment technical specifications, functional analysis, narratives, cause & effects, MTOs, cost estimates, etc. * Broad-based experience in the selection and specification of safety instrumented systems. * Thorough understanding of P&ID symbology and presentation techniques. * Experience in SIS hardware inspection, FAT, SAT, loop checks, start-up and commissioning. * SPI (Intools) experience is an advantage.
