Category Manager, Electrical Components

Konecranes is looking for a dynamic Category Manager into the Procurement team. In this role you need to understand business needs and opportunities, strategic imperatives and tactical ways to implement cost reduction together with all relevant stakeholders. You need to know how to reach set impactful targets and implement strategic aims, such as supplier base consolidation. In certain categories, you will need to introduce new cost competitive suppliers to compete with current supplier base. You will work cross-functionally with business across Konecranes and report to Director of the Category Group.
Your key responsibilities
- Create capable and cost-efficient supplier base
- Category Management for Konecranes’ own IPR Electonics and Electrical Components
- Create, implement and maintain category strategy and action plans to reach category strategic targets
- Map stakeholder’s (BA) requirements within category and reach annual cost reduction targets
- Prepare and lead supplier negotiations and business meetings
- Drive supplier performance Management
- Communicate internally about the status and activities within categories
- Drive supplier segmentation by initiating segmentation proposals
- Ensure that the Supplier Agreements, in line with Konecranes standards, are in place for all approved, preferred, and strategic suppliers
- Act as a supplier manager and be accountable for the relationships with selected suppliers
In addition, we expect you to
- Create mutually beneficial relationships with suppliers and ensure competitive advantage for Konecranes within categories where we foresee a risk for disruptions for supply
- Facilitate and coordinate category stakeholder collaboration
- Create understanding of our suppliers, their industry, their commodities, their competition and in this way build our levers to be applied in well prepared negotiations and category strategies
- Cooperate closely with internal category stakeholders
- Lead Supplier Manager Network within own responsibility area
- Identify new industrial operation capital efficiency opportunities for Konecranes Group

Skills & Requirements
What should you bring?
- University level degree in Engineering/Economics or comparable competences
- More than five years of experience in sourcing manager role in international company with proven track record.
- Proven ability to gain credibility with people across the organization and understand business requirements
- Willingness to act in line with all Konecranes values, policies, quality system and other regulations
- Demonstrated ability to effectively engage senior management and build relationships
- Ability to develop strategies and tactical plans in collaboration with stakeholders
- Excellent negotiation, communication and presentation skills
- Confidence in analyzing and evaluating large amount of data
- Strong English written and verbal communication skills
- Willingness and ability to travel
- Resilience and ability to cope with pressure
