Money Africa Group launched Money254.co.ke an innovative Financial Comparison Marketplace that allows Kenyans to compare and apply for loan products in one comprehensive online experience. They are on a mission to empower Kenyan entrepreneurs by offering a comprehensive and user-friendly platform that allows them to compare and secure the best financial solutions for their business or personal needs. They partner with financial institutions to provide prequalified leads and drive growth for both partners and customers. They are a rapidly growing startup, having recently raised a seed round, and are looking to expand their talented team of 9 full-time employees.

Engagement Description

They are looking for a proactive, strategic, and hands-on Head of Growth to join the team and help scale their customer acquisition efforts through non-performance marketing channels. Reporting directly to the CEO, this individual will be responsible for developing and implementing a growth roadmap that includes a wide range of growth-related experiments to drive customer acquisition

Some of the key responsibilities you'll be saddled with include to:

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive growth strategy and roadmap, focusing on non-performance marketing channels such as above-the-line marketing, community-based marketing, and other growth hacking techniques.

  • Identify, prioritize, and execute growth experiments to drive customer acquisition, leveraging a data-driven and iterative approach

  • Collaborate with the Product Development, Commercial, Operations, Performance Marketing, and Editorial teams to align and integrate growth initiatives.

  • Track, analyze, and report on key growth metrics, adjusting the growth strategy as needed based on results and learning.

  • Own the end-to-end execution of growth experiments, from ideation to implementation and analysis.

  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, competitive landscape, and best practices to inform the growth strategy and tactics.

  • Establish and maintain relationships with key stakeholders and partners to support growth initiatives.

Reports to: CEO

Skills & Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in growth marketing or a similar role ideal, preferably in B2C financial services or marketplace companies. _(If you're passionate about customer acquisition hacking and have shown success in strategic problem-solving roles such as management consulting or product management, you may still be considered even without applied growth marketing experience)

_ * A proven track record of driving customer acquisition through non-performance marketing channels is ideal.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are a must, including the ability to identify opportunities, prioritize, and iterate based on data-driven insights.

  • Excellent project management and execution skills are required, along with the ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential, as the role involves working effectively with cross-functional teams and senior leadership.

  • The ideal candidate will have experience with above-the-line marketing, community-based marketing, and growth hacking techniques.

  • Knowledge of the Kenyan financial services landscape and small business lending is a plus. __
