PMO Specialist

Northvolt has a great opportunity for a PMO Specialist to support the development and construction of our Northvolt Germany giga factory.

We are looking for a dedicated and experienced PMO Specialist to join us in our mission to contribute to a greener future. The role is a part of our passionate Program team based in Hamburg/Heide in Northern Germany. By joining us, you will be a key player in Project Managing the first large scale European battery factories.

About the job
In this role you will help us develop our approach to successful Project Management even further. Collaborating with a Central PMO team based in Stockholm and taking lessons and benchmarks from our first Factory Programs into account we aim to take the next step together. In your daily work you will have the chance to work with many contributing functions - internal and external.

We are looking to hire a team consisting of specialists in the following PMO domains:

  • Scheduling and Resource Planning
  • Cost Estimating and Cost Control
  • Change and Document Management
  • Risk and Opportunity Management

About the team
You will be part of the growing Factory Program team that will drive the planning, engineering, purchasing, construction and commissioning of our new battery factory in Heide, Germany. Built in multiple phases over 5+ years the factory represents a multi-billion Euro investment project. Together with your colleagues from the Program team you will work with internal and external teams cross-functionally to deliver on company targets and in line with customer expectations.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Establish a robust Plan of Record and derive the Execution Plan with contributing functions and stakeholders
  • Collaborate with Program team to define key Project deliverables like Schedule, Cost and Change Management as well as Risk & Opportunity Management
  • Implement methods and tools to measure progress, identify discrepancies, and allow forecasts
  • Develop and establish regular Progress reports that enable decision making
  • Support the Program team to develop countermeasures in case of deviations

Skills & Requirements

We believe that you have:

  • A Relevant University Degree (B.Sc. / M.Sc. or similar)
  • 5+ years in project control roles such as project control manager, project planner, project cost controller in demanding projects for industrial product development, product industrialization and/or infrastructure or industrial facility construction
  • Fluency in English and German
  • Skills & experience with Cost Management (estimating, budgeting & control) and Project planning (experience with Primavera P6 desirable)
