BMS Hardware-In-the-Loop Developer

Northvolt is right now looking for a new teammate to join our team! You will be part of the Battery Management System (BMS) group within the BMS Software Quality Assurance team and will work closely with the BMS embedded software developers. You will be given the responsibility to build and develop the platform for testing on several levels, as well as being a part of a company building the first European large-scale lithium-ion battery factory.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build Hardward-In-the-Loop (HIL)/Software-In-the-Loop (SIL) test systems from ground up
    • Develop a reliant software framework
    • Be part of develop the software interfaces for automated test runs, report generation etc
    • Work with the test strategy and test implementation to assure quality of the BMS
  • Development on HIL/SIL
    • Everything from designing the framework to implement test case, model development
    • Drive the software quality process forward in the organisation
  • Investigate root cause of failures to drive continual improvement
    • Come up with hypothesis and verify them in a structured way to continuously expanding our knowledge and confidence in our test system
  • Generate test report and communicate the status of the DUT to the rest of the organization

Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, software engineering or a related discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience to perform at this level.

Experience working with embedded software development/test automation, preferable within BMS applications. Experience of developing HIL-rig test systems, both hands on hardware tasks and software development.
Experience of working with test framework and/or test case development both for HIL and SIL environments.

Skilled in using tools:

About the company

Northvolt was founded in 2016 with the mission to build the world’s greenest battery cell, with a minimal carbon footprint and the highest ambitions for recycling, to enable the European transition to renewable energy. Northvolt’s team of experts is building the next generation battery cell factory focused on process innovation, scale and vertical integration. Once completed, it will be Europe’s largest battery cell factory and produce 32 GWh worth of capacity annually.
