Northvolt has an exciting job offer for an experienced Construction Mechanical Commissioning Manager to join our passionate Construction team in Skellefteå.
In joining us you will play an important part from the very start in building one of the first large scale European battery factories. Northvolt will play an important role in the transformation to a carbon free society.
As the Mechanical Commissioning Manager for Construction at our Giga-factory in the north of Sweden, you will take ownership of the Mechanical Commissioning for the various projects. Your responsibilities will cover steering both the commissioning planning activities during the design phase as well as directly controlling the execution phase commissioning and completions works.
You will report directly to the Northvolt Ett Senior Commissioning Manager to ensure integration of your scope within the overall Northvolt Ett Commissioning program, you will manage your own team of discipline Commissioning engineers to successfully complete the commissioning activities for the various projects on site.
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Plan, coordinate, and manage the commissioning of mechanical systems and equipment in accordance with project requirements and schedules.
- Work closely with project managers, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure that mechanical systems and equipment are installed, tested, and commissioned in accordance with project specifications and standards.
- Develop commissioning plans, procedures, and checklists for mechanical systems and equipment.
- Conduct pre-commissioning and functional testing of mechanical systems and equipment to ensure that they are operating correctly and in accordance with design specifications.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues that arise during commissioning to ensure that mechanical systems and equipment are functioning as intended.
- Ensure that all commissioning documentation, including reports, drawings, and specifications, are complete and accurate.
- Manage the Mechanical commissioning team, including contractors and sub-contractors, to ensure that work is completed on time and within budget.
- Provide technical support and guidance to project teams on mechanical commissioning matters.
- Ensure that all commissioning activities are carried out in accordance with relevant health and safety regulations.

Skills & Requirements
We believe that you have :
- A degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- Minimum 10 years experience in commissioning management.
- Excellent English written and oral skills.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems and equipment, including HVAC systems, Industrial piping systems, Chillers/Cooling towers and mechanical equipment.
- Experience of Fire Sprinkler systems an advantage.
- Experience in managing and coordinating commissioning activities for large-scale construction projects.
Bonus points for:
- CSA Grading (Commissioning specialists association)
- Background of TAB & Pre-commissioning cleaning an advantage.
- Experience of industrial gases and compressed air.
