Job Description
As technical lead Africa you will have a critical and important role at 20NINE. You will be responsible for the tech development, primarily locally in Nairobi, and that it aligns with the needs of the sub-saharan region.
We see that you are driven and experienced within Saas with a strong sense of structure, order and quality. As technical lead Africa at 20NINE, you have responsibility for the product's development, management and operation together with the corresponding roles in Stockholm.
You plan the product's functional development together with other relevant roles within the company, but has the great responsibility for ensuring that the product is relevant at all times and delivers high quality and fast performance.
Skills & Requirements
To become successful in the role as technical lead Africa you will need to have
- a good industry understanding of Mobile Payments providers and Banks
- a good understanding how these are intertwined with the digitalization of micro and small businesses.
- At least 10 years of experience in technical development, of which at least 5 in the role of technical lead, team lead or product manager
- At least 5 years of experience with Saas

20NINE is a Swedish company with HQ in Stockholm, Sweden, but have in 2023 expanded with an office in Nairobi, Kenya.
20NINE work through customer channels and currently target Mobile Payment Providers, Banks, and Telecom Operators, who understand the need to digitalize the target segment (Consumers, Poshi La Biasharas and micro businesses). A key customer channel is M-PESA from Kenya, but also other Sub Sahara markets in Africa are targeted. 20NINE is now looking to hire a Nairobi based CTO for the Sub Sahara region with good insights in the behaviour and needs of the local market.
Who we are
20NINE was born out of the idea to simplify for entrepreneurs, with or without a formal businesses. 20NINE is an all-in-one Super app for entrepreneurs aiming big. Complex software are difficult to adopt, requires training and doesn’t help drive focus. That’s why we started 20NINE, a simple, smooth and highly contextual software. No clutter. No complexity.
We prioritise drive and commitment but expertise and knowledge is equally important. Therefore, we constantly need to develop and improve as a company and on an individual level.
