As a senior FX artist at ILP you are able to create, develop, and own some of the most complex visual effects shots in TV and film, allowing your creativity and technical know-how to drive our quality of work to the next level. You will be in constant and close communication with visual effects supervisors and potentially clients in order to push these hero effects to the next level.
In this role you will get the chance to work autonomously and manage your own tasks while being a key artist and helping the rest of the team to grow and develop.
We believe that lighting and rendering the effects together with everything else in a scene makes for better integration and better looking shots, which is why our lighters will usually light the effects. This requires a close dialog between you and the lighters to bring out the most of the shots and for you to get your vision across.
You will also be talking a lot to the other departments e.g. with animation about what you need from them for your simulations to work, and updating production managers and coordinators about progress and roadblocks. This adds an extra layer of responsibility on all our artists but it also gives that extra sense of ownership and involvement that motivates our artists to go the extra mile. This, together with a culture that encourages everyone to chip in with their ideas, is what enables ILP to deliver the quality we are known for.

Important Looking Pirates is one of Scandinavia's biggest visual effects studios. Located in the heart of Stockholm we create photorealistic VFX for international TV series and feature films.
ILP was founded by artists in 2007 with the vision to become one of the top international suppliers of VFX. Since our management are artists themselves the focus of the company has always been on the quality of our work. That focus has not only earned us the big productions we are working on today but also international recognition and several of the most prestigious industry awards. We can proudly say that we have assembled one of the best visual effects teams in the business, currently with around 110 talents from all corners of the world.
Our latest projects include films like Star Wars - The Last Jedi, Jurassic World - Fallen Kingdom and Aladdin, and TV series like Carnival Row, Game of Thrones, Westworld and Lost in Space.
Our new headquarters is located in the famous Norstedts building on the islet of Riddarholmen. The office is designed to inspire creativity and to provide the best possible work environment for creating spectacular visual effects. Almost a third of the office consists of social areas where the pirates gather to have lunch and celebratory fikas, get company updates, participate in fussball tournaments, and hang out for Friday beers.
