We are looking for an experienced and driven Quality Task Force Manager to join us in our mission to contribute to a greener future. The role is a part of our Root Cause Analysis team based in Skellefteå. By joining us, you will be a key player in establishing excellent problem-solving practises in Northvolt and contribute to building one of the first large scale European battery factories.

About the job

As a root cause analysis expert, you will be brought into the different plant organizations to crack the hardest nuts - utilising advanced problem-solving methodology such as Six Sigma as well as creative and novel approaches to solve the most complex and complicated problems. Furthermore, you will lead problem-solving task forces with team members from Northvolt’s local and global organization. Finally, you will also play a part in ensuring that sustainable solutions for problem solving are engrained into the organization. In short, your main goal will be to increase the quality level, performance, and reliability of Northvolt’s processes and products within cell manufacturing and testing.

About the team
The Root Cause Analysis team consists of experts that are brought in when problems are too big or complicated for the plant organizations to solve. Think of them as Northvolt’s A-Team. The team is based in Stockholm but regularly travels to the different manufacturing plants to provide hands-on problem-solving support. You will be solving acute problems but also develop the plant organizations in advanced problems-solving methods and tools.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to: ( max 5 bullets, mention the most important ones).

  • Lead problem-solving teams in task force modes to solve the most complex problems along 8D/ Six Sigma/ DMAIC methodology.
  • Lead the communication within the task force and to Northvolt’s multifunctional team during the implementation of activities and report the task force progress to senior management.
  • Mentor staff at various positions, e.g. process quality and engineering in their application of advanced tools, techniques and principles
  • Work closely with the Continuous Improvement team to ensure that solutions are feed back into the organization.

  • Work closely with the Digitalization team to leverage advanced data models for predictive quality performance.

Skills & Requirements

We believe that you have :

  • MSc degree in Chemistry/ Manufacturing/ Engineering

  • Exceptionally good problem-solving skills with an eye for detail

  • Education in relevant quality and industrialisation discipline

  • Hands-on "can do" attitude and an entrepreneurial spirit and are an innovative and creative outside-the-box thinker.

  • Experienced in complex problem solving and process optimization, skilled in DoE, multivariate data analysis, MSA, DMAIC etc. (potentially with a six sigma background, i.e., green, or black belt)
  • Knowledge in appropriate statistical software, e.g., MiniTab, Modde/Simca, Python etc.

  • 8+ years of relevant work experience within high volume assembly/production

  • Experience of quality management in relevant industry, e.g., battery, automotive, pharma, food, pulp & paper, FMCG

  • Ability to work well with others in a team environment, as well as independently.

  • Ability to work under high pressure and tight deadlines, excellent time management.
  • Strong leadership skills and ability to lead in a matrix organization.

  • Excellent English written and oral skills.
