The post holder is responsible for managing a Defects /Incidents process for a large program . Takes responsibility and ownership for the process , Identify and implement process & tools improvements for defect prevention and/or to improve defect resolution times.
Role & Responsibilities
• To own and chair daily defect meetings and triage meetings with relevant stakeholders with minutes and actions.
• Definition, ownership and management of the Defect Process.
• Define and Agree Defect SLA's with PM/Development 3rd party stakeholders in the planning phase.
• Expert on Jira/Defect mgmt tool.
• Liaising with the Problem/Project Management Team to ensure a clear and efficient interaction within overlapping processes, and to promote this with all customers.
• Ensuring /monitoring all defects are entered correctly and controlled / managed as effectively as possible through their lifecycle.
• Maintaining absolute integrity of the defect database and ensuring a full audit trail for any changes made to defect status outside of the published defect process.
• Initiate and manage escalation process for any defects exceeding SLAs.
• Maintaining absolute integrity of the defect database and ensure all changes to defect status are within the guidelines of the defect management process.
• Develop Daily/weekly defect status reports and trending reports.
•The management (Lifecycle management) and control of all defects raised in the project.
• Identify and implement process & tools improvements for defect prevention and/or to improve defect resolution times.
• Triage defects by assigning appropriate priority, determining ownership of the defect, and routing the defect to the appropriate resource.
• Collaborate with Testing and Development/Build teams to maintain awareness of new code changes, new test cycles, ongoing automation test results and new defects, bug fix scheduling and retesting.
• Provide regular detailed trend analysis of defects raised during the different test stages.
• Administration Management of the Defect Tracking Tool.
• Ability to explain issues through and articulate knowledge of the Defect Management process to a wide audience.
• Confidence to escalate to senior management if required
• Ability to manage internal and external stakeholders for penetration and security testing .
• Schedule and coordinate testing activities for penetration and security testing.
• Monitor 3rd party test progress according to approved schedule and budget.
• Manage and coordinate communications between internal and external stakeholders for testing activities of penetration and security testing.
• Review delivery and test evidence provided by NCC/BBC against the approved statement of requirements.
• Prepare defect reporting including KPI Trends analysis, Defect Aging & Fix velocity, burndown and general dashboard reporting leveraging tools.
• Represent the regional position on defect status to both regional users and international staff on a regular basis.
• Provide clear minutes and actions related to the defect triage meetings where appropriate
• Facilitate and chair meetings between internal and external stakeholders for testing activities of penetration and security testing.
Experience and Qualification
Preferred -
ISTQB /ISQTB Advanced - Preferable. Or should aim to get certified soon.
Prod Support experience on AWS Platform or API applications.
