Vice President & Head of Region Sweden

  • Application Deadline: April 5, 2023
  • Stockholm
  • Application Deadline: April 5, 2023
  • Stockholm

Sweden has a unique position in some of the most important areas for business and economic development across the world – sustainability, innovation and digitalization. This makes a strong platform for Swedish companies to expand their business upon, and is an attractive value proposition for many foreign companies that want to establish production sites or R&D-units in Europe.

Business Sweden helps Swedish companies grow global sales and international companies invest and expand in Sweden. We do this through strategic advice on how to enter and expand in new markets, practical support in establishing presence, continuous market insights and an extensive business network.

Region Sweden consists of five teams and two cross-unit functions. The teams are three industry centered units, Energy & Transport, Materials & Industrials, Life Science, and two functional units - Trade & Invest Facilitation, and Region Sweden Advisory. The two cross-unit functions, Sustainability and Innovation, collaborate with colleagues across all our regions.

The revenues in Region Sweden come to a large extent from Business Sweden’s government assignment. Apart from the large amount of questions answered and educations conducted by the Trade and Invest Facilitation unit, the region is operationally responsible for a large part of both investment promotion and the SME advise program, and has people located across Sweden. In the state assignment, Region Sweden collaborates closely with the COO-office that is responsible for distributing resources, defining targets and follow up on the state assignment deliveries.

Furthermore, the Region is responsible for coordinating client development across all regions through the Global Industry Networks that are led from the three industry units. In that task, understanding of various ecosystems and trends in the Swedish business is vital, as is networking across different segments of companies in Sweden.

What we expect from you
In your role leading the region you have full responsibility for people, operations, and client deliveries. You will also be part of the management team at Business Sweden.

Next to developing the collaboration on the state assignment with the COO-office, the target for the region is to develop a larger share of external client revenue the coming years. This will require change in both internal culture and the way work is organized and carried out. You are expected to lead and engage people in the region through that change towards an even more effect oriented delivery in the state assignment, larger collaboration in global projects with external clients and an increasing revenue from companies.
