We recently confirmed our status as Norway’s latest unicorn, with over 300 employees in Oslo and a million devices sold worldwide. In what feels like no time, we've gone from a small startup finding its way to being one of the fastest-growing companies in Europe.

Following the successful launch of reMarkable 2, which was named one of TIME's top 100 inventions of 2020, and our new subscription service, Connect, in 2021, we've set ourselves exciting growth and product development goals for 2023. To help us get there, we need new colleagues ready to make a real difference through their work – and that’s where you come in.

About the role

As part of the Design Systems or User Journey team, you will focus on creating a great first impression of the user experience of our paper tablet ecosystem. You will work closely with designers, copywriters, QA, backend developers and other application developers to improve our application running on the reMarkable device, desktop and mobile - with primary focus on delivering a great user experience.

Tasks and responsibilities:

  • Minimum 1 year relevant work experience
  • Give users a great impression of our paper tablet ecosystem at first contact.
  • Take ownership of our design system (reusable components) and the onboarding of new users.
  • Create user interfaces in QML and use modern C++ on the backend/logic side.
  • Participate in the planning and shaping of new and existing product features.
  • Develop user-focused software and collaborate with a talented UX design team.
  • Contribute to a cross-functional team consisting of QA, designers, cloud and application developers.
  • Experience rapid growth in a dynamic environment.
  • Participate in hack days as well as exchange ideas and knowledge at our tech talks.

Desired qualifications:

  • Master's degree in a relevant subject, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Programming experience in C++.
  • JavaScript/TypeScript, QML and other languages are a plus.
  • Enjoy creating user interfaces and care about user interaction.
  • Basic knowledge of algorithms and data structures.
  • Experience with Qt (or other UI frameworks) is a plus.
  • Previous experience in cross platform app-development is a plus.
