Venture for Africa offers a 3-month immersion program designed to immerse top local and global talent in the African startup ecosystem.

We enable experienced talent who might be new to the startup space or the particular market they’re looking to enter, to soft-land and gain context while working with a startup or venture fund that's hiring.

  • Get Matched: Apply and get matched with a VFA startup partner in your area of interest.

  • Get Immersed: Spend 3 months in this role, during which you will be immersed in the local context, get plugged into the right networks, and get to understand market nuances.

  • Get Working: Work on real project deliverables for your assigned startup while being paid.

  • Get Hired: While full-time roles are not guaranteed, you are fast-tracked through ordinary application processes for available full-time roles with the startup after the experience.

Zoie Health is Africa’s first digital women’s health clinic. Zoie’s mission is to make quality women’s healthcare more accessible for millions of women around the world by leveraging leading technology, world-class clinical care and love.

Zoie is an award-winning integrated women's health and wellness digital (app) platform focused on virtual consults, subscriptions, a shop and an online community of women and medical experts.

Engagement Description

The team at Zoie Health is seeking a Strategy and Operations Lead to collaborate with the CEO in conceptualizing and executing key strategic projects.

This is a hybrid role based in Johannesburg, South Africa, with a preference for local candidates; however, exceptional remote candidates from around the world are welcome to apply.

The ideal candidate should have excellent strategic thinking, project management, analytical, communication, and teamwork skills, as well as an eye for detail. They should also have a solid background in project management and product development.

  • Sales & marketing strategy
  • Partnerships

Skills & Requirements

  • Deeply passionate about the mission and vision. You believe in what Zoie is trying to achieve and you care deeply about the women they serve
  • Experience: You have management consulting experience and/or you are currently pursuing your MBA and looking for a part-time role
  • Exceptional skills: You have strong project management, data analytics, marketing & sales, communication and strategic skills and you’re hungry to learn
  • You are able to execute at an exceptionally fast pace and at a very high
    quality. You are resourceful. You move quickly and iterate
  • An understanding of technology: You understand how software is built and how technology startups work. You have a keen interest in all things tech
  • You understand and are passionate about the problem Zoie is looking to solve. You have a positive attitude, comfortable with and adaptable to a rapidly changing work environment, you love rolling up your sleeves and getting things done quickly and independently with excellence
