reMarkable has outsourced all manufacturing and selected development activities since the beginning. The current manufacturing network is located in Asia, but is managed and developed by our Partner Management team in Oslo. As the manufacturing network is developing and expanding, we are now strengthening our Partner Management team with a Sourcing Manager who is passionate about developing high performing manufacturing partners to enable the continued growth of reMarkable.
Becoming a part of our Partner Management team puts you right in the core of reMarkable and gives you an unique opportunity to add value and develop yourself. You will be instrumental for the success of our product development projects at the same time as you support and enable our Operations teams to achieve their objectives together with our manufacturing partners.
About the role
As a Sourcing Manager you will be given the responsibility to manage and develop our Manufacturing Partners, based on an overall strategy. You will have a broad interface and will manage stakeholders both internally and externally. Key elements of your responsibility will be supplier relationship management, contract management and following up on commercial performance to ensure that our manufacturing partners contribute to business success, success in new product development/introduction and success in operations for reMarkable.
The role is part of our Supply Chain department.
The role’s key responsibilities will be to:
Manage and develop long-term supplier relationships and contracts with Manufacturing Partners in cooperation with management, projects and operations
Contribute to the development and operationalization of global sourcing and supplier strategies
Maintain a good understanding of internal needs and priorities and seek ways of meeting these with the relevant Manufacturing Partners
Responsible for supplier relationship management, follow up on supplier performance, and contract lifecycle management
Drive the improvement agenda to develop our Manufacturing Partners towards performance targets and commercial excellence
Lead all supplier negotiations and involve other internal stakeholders when relevant
Serve as a point of escalation for Operations and Projects if Manufacturing Partners fails to meet agreed expectations
Manage and develop our processes and way of working with suppliers to ensure quality and efficiency
Contribute on initiatives within the wider supply chain area when required
Who are you?
We are looking for you who have built some experience within sourcing and procurement and are triggered by joining reMarkable’s journey to help the world think better through technology. You are attracted by high pace environments where you are given a lot of responsibility and the opportunity to shape and develop your own role. You are comfortable with your ability to handle rapid changes and to navigate when the map is not giving you all the answers. You are curious and an eager learner who sees new challenges as an opportunity to develop yourself. You are able to work independently, but are also a team player who knows when and how to involve a broader range of people to succeed with the task at hand. You have a strategic business mindset, and are able to understand and learn new technologies. You’re comfortable with working together with engineers, lawyers, supply chain professionals and you’re not intimidated by titles.
What experience do you have:
Master's degree in relevant subject areas (e.g. business/engineering) or equivalent
Minimum 3-5 years of experience from positions within strategic sourcing and/or global supply management and/or management consulting
Experience from managing outsourced (manufacturing) services within relevant industries will be an advantage
Experience from develop, negotiate and manage contracts
Experience from handling negotiations and achieving strong results
Proficient level of skill in English both orally and in writing. Advanced level of skill in Norwegian and/or Mandarin will be an advantage but not a requirement

Willingness and ability to travel up to 20%, primarily in China and SE Asia
