At Morrow Batteries our ambition is to develop and manufacture the world’s most cost-effective and sustainable battery cells. Our vision is to enable and accelerate the green energy transition through the production of sustainable batteries.

The LNMO//C chemistry is applicable for electric vehicles, but at a fraction of the price of the batteries currently out there. Our aim is to compete with NMC in performance, but LFP in price. The battery is one of the more expensive parts of a car, so by realizing this chemistry, electric vehicles will become cheaper, allowing them to enter a larger market segment. In other words, realizing this chemistry will have a significant influence on the environment.

A new opportunity has opened within this pioneering team for a Research Engineer/Scientist with a drive to play a critical role in realizing our goals and vision. You will link the groundbreaking work being done by our Research team to our Customer Qualification line, preparing our LNMO//C towards commercialization.

The successful Researcher will feel comfortable working through challenges to ensure success with upscaling electrode production while optimizing mixing procedures and components. The electrodes will enter prismatic cells, which production and subsequent processing need optimization. This is a key task for the LNMO//C development and the decisions taken will be based on strong collaborations from the Research and Development department.

This is a great opportunity to shape the process from the early days, whilst making a significant contribution to our sustainable future.

Tasks & Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Development team running the Customer Qualification Line.
  • Changing through cell formats from coin to pouch to cylindrical.
  • Guide the efforts based on the research results from our laboratories.
  • Identify failures during upscaling and find solutions.
  • Develop experimental plans that can be executed.
