Job Description
Meltwater Entrepreneurial School of Technology (MEST) is seeking passionate individuals who will be involved with teaching and mentoring entrepreneurs-in-training in business and entrepreneurship so that they can begin building a scalable technology company at the end of the program.
This is a full-time 12-month contract position. Teaching Fellows are expected to be in-person at our MEST campus in Accra, Ghana.
These individuals will contribute to creating a culture of excellence in a supportive environment that promotes the success of our entrepreneurs-in-training and drives the reputation of MEST as a world-class entrepreneurship training program institution.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Design, develop and execute the curriculum and lesson plans for the subject area.

Mentor individuals and project teams.

Lead projects within the curriculum.

Meet required standards for teaching and mentoring as defined within the overall curriculum implementation plan and KPIs.

Skills & Requirements
-
Demonstrated knowledge and professional experience in business and finance
-
Experience in entrepreneurship concepts like market research, user research, innovation, business modeling, legal and finance

Experienced in using Design Thinking principles

Have a working knowledge of business plan canvas production and how to prepare for and navigate investor markets

Significant experience with entrepreneurship or intrapreneurship, must have run a startup or scaled one

Influential in the African or global entrepreneurship space

Have significant knowledge of crafting and implementing Go To Market strategies and continuous innovation including pivoting.

Passionate and confident speaker, teacher, coach and mentor in entrepreneurship and business subjects

Experience working in multicultural and diverse teams and familiarity with the challenges/opportunities in African countries

About the company
MEST is a pan-African software and entrepreneurship training program, seed fund and incubator helping launch technology startups across the continent. Founded in Ghana in 2008 by serial entrepreneur Jorn Lyseggen, MEST is a 12 month program that provides critical skills training in software development, business, and communications to Africa’s burgeoning tech talent. MEST provides seed funding for the best ideas coming out of the program and continues supporting the growth and development for its portfolio companies.
To date, MEST has trained over 1000s of entrepreneurs from across the continent and invested in over 80 startups across industries from Agritech, Fintech, SaaS, eCommerce, Digital Media and Healthcare amongst others. MEST is fully funded by the Meltwater Foundation, the non-profit arm of the Norwegian company Meltwater, the global leader in media intelligence headquartered in San Francisco.
