IT System Specialist, Hotel Services – Stockholm, Sweden (Office/Hybrid)

We want a new IT System Specialist to check in with us in Stockholm, Sweden!

As our System Specialist for Hotel Services you will have the overall daily operational responsibility for Scandic’s Hotel System, Oracle Opera. Your focus will be on the central functions and integrations. You will interact with our business to understand and translate business requirements into technical requirements and functions.

You will have a close collaboration with our stakeholders from the commercial team such as distribution, pricing, e-comm, central reservations and hotel operations to utilize the solutions in best possible way for Scandic. Currently, we are having a lot of exciting projects in the pipeline.

Main activities and responsibilities:

  • Actively keep up with technology trends within and outside the hospitality area and understand how these can be adapted to support the business needs and vision
  • Assist and provide technical insights to Architectural and Design directions together with our Service Manager & Enterprise Architect
  • Provide input to technology roadmaps and service maintenance
  • Collaborate with suppliers, business counterparts, IT Service Desk and IT stakeholders
  • Function as system and service support post L1/L2
  • Own daily supplier interaction and follow up incidents and requests with the supplier
  • Manage system/service specific functions, configuration, development and procedures as well as work in the processes around these
  • Optimize, maintain and implement support scripts, knowledge base articles, technical processes and procedures for maximum efficiency
  • Work with problem analysis for recurring incidents according to the problem management process and execute relevant changes in accordance with Change and Release process

Skills & Requirements

Skills & Background:

  • Deep knowledge and specialist skills in one or several of the following systems: Opera v5, Opera Cloud, Opera Cloud Central. We know it’s hard to measure knowledge in number of years, but we think you have 5+ years working experience
  • Deep technical knowledge of Opera Cloud PMS and Central functions
  • Ability to adapt solutions to fit purpose and usability
  • Experience in IT service management principles and execution (mainly Incident, Problem, Change & Release)
  • Demonstrated experience in establishing standard processes and managing performance to achieve key metrics
  • Experience explaining and understanding technical concepts and technologies
  • Experience with effective communication of technical matters in a nontechnical way at different levels in the organization in written and spoken
  • Proficiency in Swedish and English
  • Good documentation skills
