Regional Sales Manager- QLD

For 130 years, we’ve been committed to continuously improving what we do for our guests and the people we work with. As Regional Sales Manager - Queensland you’ll be responsible for maximizing the sales potential within your designated area of responsibility by cultivating strong relationships with existing customers, driving brand awareness, and identifying new customer prospects across existing and new distribution networks. You will be required to be the face of the brand in your region and effectively represent the Hurtigruten brand to the travel industry and the public. Sales Managers strive for successful execution of their sales plan and achievement of the passenger/revenue objectives/goals.

The APAC head office is in Melbourne and this role is best placed in Brisbane area or surrounds.

Skills & Requirements

We are looking for a Regional Sales Manager - QLD territory that wants to join us and are good at:

  • Maintaining effective strategic relationships with partners, front line staff, executives, marketing and sales teams
  • Maintain and manage applicable sales agreements, including reporting, commissions, back-end incentives and marketing plans.
  • Set targets, develop, coordinate and implement annual sales/marketing plans with key accounts using a customized approach to address the specific needs of each partner.
  • Ensure ROI is monitored and maximized
  • Strengthen relationships and achieve growth with key and new preferred accounts through regular sales contact and informative updates, while offering offer sales assistance when appropriate.
  • Provide detailed in house and offsite webinar product & sales training
  • In cooperation with fellow sales team members, develop and implement an effective sales plan for training, educating and servicing all members of the partner organizations.
  • Co-organize and host client (consumer) presentations and product information sessions,
  • Escort familiarization trips for travel agents / media / partners as necessary
  • Provide strategic input and leadership to a local and global group of fellow peers within the sales team members
  • Ensure that marketing collateral is utilized to its full potential.
  • Identify and develop new business opportunities through direct and trade channels.
  • Evaluate ROI of potential trade and consumer activities and commit where beneficial
  • Continually identify new opportunities that would be beneficial to the brand.
  • Stay abreast of competitor activities and general trends within the industry.
  • Deliver an accurate detailed weekly sales report
  • Actively seek , foster and close group business; coordinate with group sales manager & provide relevant assistance throughout the process
  • Manage your regions T&E budget and co-op marketing funds in the most cost effective way delivering the highest return.

  • Able to work flexible hour including evenings and weekends. Overnight and some overseas travel may be required

Academic and Professional Qualifications :

  • College Degree or job experience equivalent required, 5+ years sales and customer service experience required,
  • 3+ years travel industry experience preferred

Additional Knowledge:

  • Proficiency in MS Office (especially Power Point), LCD/data projection, Internet and webinar applications.
  • Ability to make good use of web tools and in-house technical resources, adapt to new technology, learn new programs quickly, and use computers to improve productivity.
  • Able to deliver effective presentations to consumer and agents, engage as a credible trainer, and is an efficient communicator of the brands core sales messages -required
