Production Engineer– Production Technology Labs (fix term contract)

We are looking for a dedicated Production Engineer to join us in our mission to contribute to a greener future.
You will work in the Production engineering team for Upstream at Northvolt Labs. You will participate in and drive process improvements, process investigations and perform tasks with purpose to solve problems and increase efficiency in manufacturing. You will be participating in the implementation of new equipment and play an important role in solving quality problems.

Specifically, you have experience with driving actions or projects to improve efficiency in manufacturing as well as implementing cost-reductive changes.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Process improvement and optimization - Tweaking process parameters or process sequences to improve efficiency, throughput or to meet quality requirements.
  • Process safety improvements - Dive into process design and process concept to assess the risk and develop measures to reduce it.

  • Material and information flow improvements - Mainly related with the traceability of raw materials, samples, intermediate products, wastes, recycled product.

  • Process quality control - Developing a sampling plan for the process and being the reference function for linking the quality results to the process parameter.

  • Process troubleshooting and Root Cause Analysis - Identifying the root cause behind process issues by performing troubleshooting.
  • Process development - Being the technical lead for projects related to the tasks mentioned above.
  • Work instructions and training - Creating work instructions & training sessions for Manufacturing Technicians and Shift Leaders.

Note: this is a fix term position till 1st of May 2024.

Skills & Requirements

Our requirements:

  • Master´s degree in chemical engineering, material engineering, industrial engineering or equivalent.
  • 3+ years’ experience in manufacturing environment (chemical, food, paper & pulp, power generation plants), preferably with some experience powder-processes.
  • Experience in using diagnostic and modeling tools (Matlab, CAD).
  • Excellent English written and oral skills.
  • Experience in operating standardized documents for manufacturing operation.

  • Experience in process improvement / process monitoring / troubleshooting / on-site management support / participation in new projects, etc.

  • Passionate attitude towards rechargeable batteries and the ability to be challenging and creative.
