ABOUT THE TEAM
Consumer Business Technology (CBT) is a department consisting of 40 software engineers in addition to UX Designers, Product Managers and Data analysts with teams in Oslo, Stockholm and Kraków.
The CBT team is a crucial part of Schibsted News Media and at its core focuses on building a world class subscription platform. Our User Revenue Suite is a modern, multi-tenant, subscription platform that will be used by all brands within Schibsted News Media. Our brands include the biggest news destinations in Norway and Sweden like Aftenposten, VG, Bergens Tidende, Aftonbladet, Svenska Dagbladet and many more.
The User Revenue Suite handles all aspects of the customers journey from purchasing a subscription to Billing, Marketing Automation, Campaign Management, Data & Insight and Customer Service. The Oslo team which you will be part of focuses mainly on the parts of our platform responsible for the customer experience such as subscription administration, campaign management and marketing automation but also takes on other challenges and ad hoc experiments.
ABOUT THE ROLE
We are looking for a Fullstack developer to grow our team.
We have a modern tech stack which we refine and improve as we discover solutions for the situations we face. You will find yourself with the opportunity to work with JS/TS, Node, React, Next, Kotlin, micro-services, SQL & NoSQL databases, a wide range of AWS services, Convox, Kubernetes, Snowflake as well as experiment with new technologies.
You will report to the team’s designated Engineering Manager and you will work closely with a highly skilled team of software engineers in CBT.
What you’ll do:
Contribute to engineering efforts from investigation, to design, to implementation; solving complex technical challenges along the way
You will work together with Engineering Managers, UX Designers, Product and Engineering teammates to build new services and features
Bring forward and develop ideas which are vital to the biggest news media sites across Norway and Sweden
Collaborate across teams, functions, and companies within News Media to create the best possible product and user experience
Coach others in your strengths, learn from your peers, and embrace complete ownership of our product
What we are looking for in a candidate:
Experience as a software developer from several projects in a professional working environment
Strong skills in Javascript/Typescript and/or Java/Kotlin and experience working with cloud infrastructure
A team player with a passion for problem solving
Proficient in English
There’s a advantage if you speak a Scandinavian Language
A degree in software engineering or information systems (or other relevant education)
