Northvolt has an exciting job offer for a Director of Corporate Strategy to join our stellar team in Stockholm.
Northvolt was founded with the mission to drive the European transition to a clean, carbon-neutral energy future. Today, Northvolt is in the process of expanding Northvolt Labs into the epicentre of European electrification, building our first two Gigafactories in Sweden (more to come…), establishing our recycling business Revolt, and expanding our capabilities to deliver complete battery systems. In parallel to this, we are busy building a company we can all be proud about. Northvolt, to date has more than $50 billion worth of contracts with BMW, VW, Volvo Cars, Fluence and beyond.
While we are very proud of our accomplishments, our ambitions go significantly beyond where we are today, and this is where the Strategy team comes in.
The Strategy team drives the development of Northvolt’s corporate strategy, and works closely with the business units, operational and functional teams within Northvolt to drive our business expansion and company building activities. This means working in a highly cross-functional environment to set the strategic direction of Northvolt, supporting internal business initiatives, and execute strategic partnerships within the broader electrification ecosystem.
As a Director Corporate Strategy, you will work cross-functionally together with Northvolt management, other Northvolt teams and external stakeholders to define and execute on Northvolt’s growth agenda. You have the ability to lead our strategy development, internally and towards our Board of Directors, and ensure strategy execution happens in a coordinate way according to our plans. You will lead the Corporate Strategy team with people responsibility for a number of colleagues.
Key responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Drive and coordinate Northvolt’s corporate strategy development and planning
- Support the development of Northvolt’s long-term strategic growth roadmap
- Lead our efforts on market intelligence and insights from the battery industry
- Manage key processes supporting our strategic execution (e.g., annual strategy cycle, OKRs)
- Prepare and present decision materials for our group management, board & BU leaders
The role reports to Northvolt’s Vice President Strategy in the Northvolt management team.

Skills & Requirements
- 7+ years of experience from consulting, strategy department or program management
- Preferably experience from working in/ with the automotive, energy or battery industry
- Previous experience around electric vehicles and batteries an upside
- Strong quantitative and qualitative analysis
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent abilities in Excel and PowerPoint
- Ability to drive work independently and build strong relationships.
- Ability to lead, combined with an attitude of “not afraid to get hands dirty”
