If you haven’t heard of us, we are still pretty sure you are using our network every day. Arelion owns and operates one of the most extensive fibre backbones of the world. We have operated our fibre/DWDM and IP nodes across the globe for almost 30 years, but only the last 6 months as Arelion.
Even if we are a classical Telecommunications company, IT is a top priority for us. We are currently moving into new systems at the speed of light, and working hard to let our customers self-serve, connect via APIs and or view their data in different ways in our customer portal.
You will belong to a small team with other IT Solution Architects, with a responsibility for different areas, like a system, or a business area. Most of the team is situated in Solna in Stockholm, but the company is world-wide with offices and colleagues in many locations in the world.
You will be the bridge between the business stakeholders, our end customers and the developers, translating the requirements into robust IT solutions, making sure they are compliant with agreed architecture and consistent with similar solutions, specifying the development items (often including integrations), coordinating the work between development teams (inhouse and outsourced), and making sure that the end solution is accepted by the business and that the change is landing well with the business or with customers.
The main responsibilities and tasks are:
Lead workshops and requirements gathering with the business stakeholders.
Design the solution, in new or existing systems. If a new system is needed, you will find and propose potential solutions to a steering group or business stakeholders.
Refine requirements into development items and change requests for external vendors and/or internal development teams, including frontend developers, data engineers, integration platform or backend developers etc.
Assist and follow up vendors and help developers during development and verify that the solution is being built according to plan during development phase.
Make sure that the end-to-end process for the solution is received and working well with the business users
Communicate changes to business stakeholders and customers.
Maintain a roadmap with priority and input from the business product owner.
