Role Overview

The Senior Design Quality Engineer reports to the Head of Quality Assurance and has broad responsibility for ensuring the continuous improvement of ES-30 Program Design activities.

During ramp-up activities, the Senior Design Quality Engineer will be in charge to:

  • Ensure Quality and Compliance of deliverables during the development process considering Quality cost and lead-time
  • Make the voice of the customers present and understood among the Design Organization
  • Support engineering teams by supporting and providing them guidance, methods and Quality best practices

This role presents a challenge and an exciting opportunity to develop, advance and influence the development of the QMS at Heart Aerospace. To achieve this, we value great self-discipline and teamwork.

In a specific context of ES-30 Program, your key responsibilities would include but not limited to:

  • Define Quality objectives and ensure that all provisions are planned, performed and efficient
  • Ensure Development compliance with applicable standards and regulations during all phases of the project
  • Ability to monitor and control design status including all open actions
  • Ability to conduct Design reviews before formal milestone reviews
  • Ensure the control of changes are incorporated in accordance with the configuration management processes (requirements, engineering change, definition, means, manufacturing process, repairs, etc.)
  • Ensure the implementation of corrective and preventive actions
  • Report alerts, risks and opportunities to the Program department
  • Ability to monitor and control design suppliers (design or design + build) (starting from RFI/RFP phase) during whole lifecycle of the sub-contract
  • Train Design teams and support them for building documents and implementing Quality tools
  • Ensure the control of Authorizations and Qualifications

Skills & Requirements

Qualifications & Experience

  • Graduate degree in aerospace or Quality Development/Project discipline, or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in Quality within an Aerospace company environment
  • Direct experience/knowledge of ISO9001, AS9100, AQAP2310 including detecting root cause, implementing corrective action and improvement action methods
  • Direct experience/knowledge of IEEE 15288 (or equivalent systems engineering standard/guidance), SAE-ARP4754, SAE-ARP4761, DO-178, DO-254 standards/guidelines, and ability to audit with respect to standards/guidelines that shall be followed by Heart and Heart’s design suppliers
  • Direct experience/knowledge of EIA649 Configuration Management Standard
  • Direct experience within EASA regulations Part 21J (Design Organisation Approval DOA, TC, Post-TC), knowledge of the interface between Quality and Independent System Monitoring functions
  • Direct experience/knowledge with product development/requirement management/PLM/PDM tools (such as DOORS, Teamcenter, Catia etc.)
  • Direct experience with audit planning execution and reporting (process, products and regulatory audits), knowledge of ISO19011, preferably worked as internal or lead auditor, including supplier audits
  • A strong compliance and detail-oriented mindset
  • Excellent verbal & written communication skills in English
  • Eagerness to work with others
  • Passion for electric aircrafts and Heart’s mission

The ideal candidate would have

  • Experience working in an Aerospace start-up environment
  • Experience working in an Aerospace Certification Process (STC, TC) within OEM, Manufacturer would be an asset
  • Proficiency in advanced auditing techniques
