Responsibilities
Strategic business support and accounting guidance
- Accounting guidance for SF Studios businesses such as film rights investments, film and TV production accounting, film rights depreciations, stock accounting, acquisitions/divestitures, legal transactions, impairment, and other complex business transactions.
- Prepare/review timely, high-quality technical accounting memos on all key technical accounting matters for submission to CFO, CEO, Board of Directors, Bonnier or PWC
- Manage and act as a liaison in SF Studios-wide initiatives and cross-functional projects that directly impact the accounting area to ensure IFRS and local compliance.
- Discover and find solutions to unusual accounting matters, communicating results for non-accountants to understand.
Business support, accounting policies and IFRS expertise
- Take lead with each business area regarding overall public support and reporting/accounting of SF Group public support.
- Responsible for establishing and developing the accounting principles of key strategic business areas in line with IFRS and Bonnier accounting policy:
- Operate the SF Studios chart of accounts and develop harmonized accounting principles within SF Studios companies and in line with Bonnier accounting policy
- Responsible for the SF Studios financial manual used to complement Bonnier accounting policy.
- Educate and train both Nordic finance colleagues and non-Finance staff.
SF Studios reporting and external accounting standards
- Oversee group reporting and preparation of all financial statements of SF Studios entities, and ensure that reports are compiled in line with IFRS, local frameworks and professional standards.
- Provide global oversight of technical accounting policies and coordinate training for internal accounting teams as well accounting instructions to outsourcing partners in the Nordics, UK and US.
- Act as the meeting secretary of SF Studios audit committees. Prepare the agenda with the CFO, participate and create minutes of all audit committee meetings.
Risk management, internal control, insurance and compliance processes
- Oversee company compliance procedures and risk mapping reporting
Provide quality assurance when policies, manuals and other documentation are updated
- Run internal audits and oversee processes to ensure that SF Studios companies operate in line with accounting principles, and good internal control
- Develop enterprise risk management and risk management processes including workshops in business areas and other teams
- Compliance Procedures and risk mapping and reporting
- Update policy manuals and other documentation to ensure good internal control
- Reviews of processes, accounting records, bank authorizations, mandates, and sign-off procedures to ensure that SF Studios companies operate in line with accounting principles, laws, company standards and good internal control.
- Develop and maintain internal controlling processes, internal audits for certain areas or upon demand.
Requirements
- 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, focused on technical accounting in a Nordic framework and IFRS or 10+ years as an auditor
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field and equivalent work experience from an international company applying IFRS and local accounting riles in the Nordics
- Ability to lead, organize, and manage projects from beginning to end that require coordinated efforts across multiple teams like Production, Distribution, Business Controlling, Financial Controlling and operations, Legal etc
- Experience from entertainment, tech, telecom, media, film production or fintech business
- Exceptional communication skills, including an ability to listen to the needs of the business and comprehend complex matters, articulate issues in a clear and simplified manner, and present findings and recommendations in both oral and written presentations
- Manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines with strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Proactive and creative approach and strong analytical skills
- Excellence in both writing and verbal communication in English and Swedish, Danish or Norwegian
- Track record of working independently with limited guidance on simultaneous projects
- Ability to respond to internal or external requests for support in a prompt and professional manner
