Product Vision
The vision for the HRN product is to build the leading B2C platform for Norwegian coastal
travel that creates a world-leading experience for our guests and enables Hurtigruten Norway's
ambitious growth targets.
What we're looking for
Customer obsessed senior product designers who are passionate about our mission. We want
design to drive the solutions for the business and the customer, ensuring that we create the
best possible experience for our customers.
Working closely with product and engineering we want to test, learn and iterate as quickly as
possible to achieve our goals.
You’ll be fluent with design thinking and the latest tools to enable us to prototype and test with
customers successfully.
You’ll have a keen sense of visual design and have and experience creating and / contributing
to design systems. Ideally you will have experience designing online and offline experiences and the unique
challenges that come with these products.
You thrive in an agile and non-hierarchical manner. You like a challenge and are able to work
autonomously to achieve goals.
Responsibilities
● Be an advocate in the business for Product and User Centred Design
● Create compelling visual designs that align with company and product brand standards.
● Create distinct experiences that are desirable and consistent across multiple platforms,
devices and channels.
● Actively collaborates as part of an agile team to ensure designs are feasible and
implemented accurately.
● Conduct user research to discover insights, define user personas, and map user
journeys.
● Develop new product concepts, interaction designs and screen flows, and prototypes to
articulate solutions.
● Conduct concept and usability testing to iteratively validate and improve design
solutions.
● Track user experience metrics and reports on the success of UX improvements,
including analytics
Domain Skills
● Strong visual design skills, able to create compelling, branded, high-fidelity product
screens
● Familiar working with design systems that consistently scale across platforms that meet
WCAG 2.0 AA accessibility standards
● Solid understanding of how to create usable, accessible, and modular designs that can
scale to millions of users through design systems and prototyping.
● Hands on design experience working on web platforms
● Able to plan, conduct, and synthesise user research and usability testing
● Skilled at creating interaction design solutions for multiple products
● Skilled at mobile-first design solutions
● Skilled in motion and interactive UI design (prototyping) is a plus
● Travel knowledge and enthusiasm is a plus
● Experience with Figma and Miro
● Bachelor’s Degree, or equivalent work experience
Agile Experience
● Excited in working and collaborating with diverse teams in a dynamic, rapid growth
environment.
● Hands-on experience designing consumer applications for desktop, web, and mobile
● Proven experience working in design teams in an Agile product development setting
Individual skills
● Strong communication skills with the ability to articulate the value of a design choice to
users and non-designer stakeholders
● Creative problem solving and analytical thinking
● Able to produce high-quality creative solutions in a fast-paced environment
