An aging population and a healthcare system under pressure have made the need for efficient medical IT solutions greater than ever before. At Sectra we have more than 30 years' experience of building software that is loved by healthcare workers all over the world. Our products and services have won the industry's award for customer satisfaction nine years in a row. We are not planning on breaking that trend anytime soon.

Working as a developer
As a developer at Sectra you will be a part of one of our self-organized agile teams who design, code, test and support our software. The product area Radiology (X-ray diagnostics) spans our whole tech stack, both front and back end. The main part of the codebase is written in C# and web-technologies such as TypeScript and React.

Once you have started at Sectra you will:

  • Become a highly skilled programmer, with experience from both frontend (client-side) and backend (server-side) development.
  • Learn to use modern tools for efficient software construction, such as Visual Studio, VSCode, Git and JIRA.
  • Build mission-critical software that helps healthcare workers all over the world become more effective, and save more lives.
  • Have fun at work in a fast-paced environment surrounded by other bright colleagues.
  • Travel to hospitals and clinics in Europe, North America and Australia to interact with end-users and watch your own code in action.

Life at Sectra
We take our work seriously and collect insights from within the development teams as well as from customers and internal Sectra stakeholders. However, we like to have fun as well and encourage all our employees to explore their own ideas. For example, every six weeks, a two-day event is arranged where all our engineers have the opportunity to work on own ideas and projects. These ideas are often incorporated into our products.

Skills & Requirements

At Sectra, we hire for attitude and ability – train for skill. This means who you are is more important than your previous experiences. There are a few core abilities that are central for any role. We always look for your willingness and ability to learn and take on new tasks fast, utilize previous experiences and quickly grasp new information. We want you to have a strong analytical mindset, it is important that you can understand, divide and solve problems. Being a good communicator is key when interacting with your future colleagues, business partners and customers in an efficient, clear and constructive way.

In addition to these abilities, we want you to:

  • Have a bachelor’s or master’s degree within engineering, IT or similar with a strong academic record
  • Be fluent in English
  • Have a strong interest in new and innovative technology and software development

  • Have previous experience of software development
  • Speak other languages than English
