We are looking for a passionate Senior Manager Training to join us in our mission to contribute to a greener future. As part of our new Gigafactory in Heide (Northvolt Drei), you will have the chance to build one of the first large scale European battery factories by establishing a comprehensive process for training and education.

About the job

You have the possibility to shape Northvolt's setup in Germany and contribute to a lighthouse project for Germany's energy and industrial transition. You will be responsible for setting up training concepts tailored for different target groups from line operators to leaders in close collaboration with the different stakeholders of our plant organization. Your success will be measured in their effective implementation while being accountable for compliance with standards like IATF 16949.

You will maintain a close exchange with our colleagues in all other Northvolt locations to ensure continuous improvement and lessons learned. Furthermore, you will work together with different external parties, such as training providers, research institutes, universities and innovative industry partners.

About the team

You will be part of a highly dynamic, driven and dedicated team in a fast-paced environment. This means working in a cross-functional and international setup as well as acting as an intrapreneur. An outstanding impact and learning curve in this position is guaranteed. You will report to the Senior Director of Operations in Drei.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Setup and lead the Northvolt Drei training organization
  • Plan and implement training concepts for the needs of the entire factory, while ensuring compliance with IATF 16949 requirements
  • Responsible for all relevant project streams (basic training, product and process training, tools and methods, shop-floor trainings, …)
  • Lead the setup of a battery training line and drive implementation
  • Establish and coordinate educational partnerships around our gigafactory and its ecosystem
  • Continuous improvement of concepts and processes through external benchmark and active alignment with the other Northvolt factories

The person we are looking for is structured, open for a wide range of challenges, and a team player. Our organization values great self-discipline and a natural talent to make things happen. Qualities that we cherish are sense of quality, friendliness, grit and some humour.

Northvolt is an equal opportunity employer. We're a diverse group of individuals, united by a common mission, who recognise that while our actions as individuals have a role to play in driving Northvolt towards its goals, we always seek to move forward as a team. We offer you an open and welcoming atmosphere where we win as a team – and fail as a team. Northvolt is growing at the speed of light and we are a strong believer in internal career development.

About the company

Northvolt makes green batteries for a blue planet. Affordable cells and high-quality battery systems. All manufactured with a record-low carbon footprint. Purposely built to provide Europe with the opportunity to switch to renewable energy – efficiently and entirely.

To accomplish this, we do things differently. We design, manufacture, and recycle everything under one roof. We even build our own factories. All this is incredibly challenging and requires us to think in unconventional ways. We’re constantly experimenting, learning and adapting to make batteries so great – they will one day make oil history.

Northvolt is growing fast. We’re staffing our international office in Stockholm, our R&D facility, Northvolt Labs, in Västerås, as well as our Gdansk facility for production of battery systems. We're also hiring for our gigafactory Northvolt Ett in Skellefteå, Sweden. We want to work with smart individuals from all disciplines. Strong individuals that truly want to make a positive impact on the future. Those of us already on board share a passion for our mission. We’re prepared to work hard in pursuit of excellence. We enjoy the ride and our main drive is to make a difference for real. As a team, we’re dedicated to thinking new, working hard and having fun.
