We are FLOX and we are developing robotics & AI solutions for autonomous drones to coexist with wildlife. We are looking for an experienced hardware engineer with experience in embedded systems, software-hardware integration and drone technology. Are you interested?
Who are we?
The world is changing. Today, we live in a highly transformed landscape on a planet with a biodiversity crisis. Around the world, as the human population continues to expand, and natural wild places are reduced, people and wildlife are increasingly coming into conflict over living space and food. It might be wild boars destroying crops in Sweden, elephants in India eating pineapples, European bears and wolves killing livestock, or elk collisions with trains in Norway. The problem is universal and is bad news for all concerned.
At FLOX, we turn what was previously a human-wildlife conflict into a new way of managing and protecting natural resources in shared landscapes.
How do we work?
We are developing robotics and artificial intelligence applied on autonomous drones to reduce damages caused by wild animals to cultivated fields, young forest areas, and other areas where coexistence is needed, such as avoiding wildlife strikes at airports or preventing wildlife-vehicle collisions.
Through our solutions, we are able to effectively categorize different wildlife species, map their mobility and even trigger safe deterrents to repel or re-route the wildlife from certain zones.
Who we are looking for?
We are looking for an experienced hardware engineer with experience in embedded systems, software-hardware integration, and drone technology.

We are not a drone manufacturer, which means you will be using a drone platform and be responsible for the assembly and integrations of the boxed Flox system including various sensors and cameras, both on a drone, and on other moving vehicles.
Your ability to be hands-on in product development, lead and inspire teams, communicate and negotiate with stakeholders and thrive in the resource-constrained environment of a scaling startup, will be critical to succeed in this role.
