Business Intelligence Analyst

Great opportunity to join the Business Intelligence and Data Warehouse team, supporting our market leading marine insurance activities worldwide.

We are looking for a Business Intelligence Analyst to join our Business Intelligence and Data Warehouse team in Arendal. If you are curious by nature, business-oriented and passionate about analyzing complex data, we want you to be a part of Gard’s Business Intelligence and Data Warehouse team! Tasks and responsibilities

  • Become an expert on marine insurance products, services, and processes
  • Provide data analysis for the organization
  • Extract, transform and load data in Azure Data Factory or similar ETL tool
  • Design reports in Power BI
  • Develop and manage financial and regulatory reports
  • Work closely with our Data and DevOps Engineers, and infrastructure, business control and analytics teams

Skills & Requirements

You have

  • A degree in Business, Computer Science, or related field. Recent graduates are also encouraged to apply
  • A mind for both complex business processes and complex data
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills
  • People-focused and service‐minded
  • Aspirations to become an expert in both business and data knowledge
  • Familiarity with Azure and cloud-based resources and tools
  • Understanding of agile methodology and CI/CD
  • Working knowledge of Azure SQL server, Snowflake or Synapse
  • Proficient in SQL (Structured Query Language)
  • Familiarity with coding such as R, Python or equivalent
  • Collaborative, analytical, business-oriented with a pragmatic mindset
  • A reputation for being a good team player
  • Ability to balance long vs. short perspectives well
