We are looking for a dedicated Equipment Purchasing Manager to join us in our mission to contribute to a greener future. The role is a part of our bold purchasing team based in Stockholm.
Our challenge
We are responsible for procurement of all mass production equipment required to produce the world's greenest Lithium-ion battery cells. Our goal is to enable world-wide long-term partnerships with suppliers that will support Northvolt on the path towards 250 GWh of installed production capacity by 2030, this with state-of-the art manufacturing technology. We are steering simultaneous engineering projects, strategic partnerships and supply chain localisation to Europe.
Your challenge, if you join us
You will lead a team of excellent category managers who are procuring the most technologically advanced equipment to support Northvolt’s exponential growth journey.
This will involve leading complex supplier relationships at C-level, influencing internally across all functions at all levels to ensure successful projects, and shaping the development of the talented team to set us up for future success, as well as supporting with your knowledge and experience on critical negotiations and projects.
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Bring structure to team’s strategy development and supplier relationship management processes.
- Develop and leverage internal and external relationships to ensure Northvolt delivers on this critical next stage of expansion.
- Assure cost competitiveness through deep understanding of cost drivers and should-costs for mass production equipment.
- Actively support the growth and development of the team, both your direct reports and the wider team.

Skills & Requirements
We believe that you have :
- A degree in engineering
- Excellent English written and oral skills
- Experience leading a multicultural team in a fast paced environment
- A proven track record handling complex procurement spend of ~$100M USD
