About the role
As a Data Engineer, you will be responsible for creating analyses that help reMarkable plan for the future, moving from a reactive to proactive decision making process. You will be responsible for maintaining data loading into O9 (our Supply Chain Planning system), and help resolve any issues related to data loading and maintenance. You will also be responsible for developing and deploying data pipelines that leverage advanced business logic and result in complex data products within the supply chain domain.
Our tech stack
In our target state, O9 (supply chain management system) will need to interact with Apigee, our integration platform and SAP for financial data. While in our MVP solution, O9 will have to interact with SFTP server and data from our data warehouse.
Data infrastructure is mainly built in GCP (Google Cloud Storage, Cloud Composer, BigQuery, Looker), with additional supporting tools for transformation and orchestration (Airflow, dbt, Terraform,Github)
Main areas of responsibility are:
Collaborate with key stakeholders on the business and technical side to understand business needs and define end-to-end data solutions
Work with the IT community to explore and develop new data sources and technical capabilities
Be the technical platform manager of O9, mastering basic O9 configuration skills and being the business primary technical sparring partner.
Own and maintain data loading and data pipeline and resolve issues related to data pipelines
Create data products by translating business logic in SQL (wrapped by dbt) and guide domain expertise to identify use-cases, from simple BI and stats, to potential AI solutions
Develop Data Governance capabilities and ensure good trade-offs and compliance with the legal requirements, e.g. GDPR
Be a driving force in technology and tool selection
Support the development of best practices for data pipelining and data product management
Write backend code on GCP in Python where appropriate
Write configurations within O9 in IBPL (Integrated Business Planning Language)
Who are you?
You have a Bachelor’s or Master's degree in Computer Science or a similar degree
You have a minimum of 3+ years’ experience as a Data Engineer
You have excellent Data Engineering skills and high Python and SQL literacy
Good o9 integration skills, specifically MS SSIS, is a plus
Knowledge and experience in Google Cloud Platform and workflow orchestration tool (e.g. Airflow) is great
You have the ability to communicate and cooperate with business users
You have high interest and willingness to understand the business domain
You quickly understand complex issues and come up with sound and rational judgments
You are curious, analytical and structured
Ideally, you’d have experience with best of breed supply chain solutions (O9, Kinaxis, Blue Yonder, E2Open etc.).
