ILP produces high-end VFX for some of the most ambitious TV shows and movies in the world. This involves large amounts of digital assets, specifications, and infrastructure resources.

As a Digital Resource Manager you work to build consensus, recommend, determine and ultimately implement appropriate policies and procedures concerning digital resource management. You work cooperatively with the Production and Technology teams to ensure shows adopt and follow proper data management procedures. You continuously review data workflow and define improvements in tools and processes to allow more effective management, tracking, and forecasting of resources.

You lead a small team that is responsible for ingestion of digital material and delivery configurations, organisation and structuring of shows and asset libraries and management of storage, subscription and licenses.

Your work will include:

  • Ingestion of client and external vendor material as well as internally created material for our asset libraries.

  • Setting up and maintaining configurations for show deliveries.

  • Purchasing, downloading and ingestion of elements as requested.

  • Developing, maintaining and monitoring the internal data structures for our shows and global asset libraries.

  • Designing, improving, maintaining and communicating clean-up and wrap-up procedures.

  • Prioritizing, managing, and maintaining archiving of show data, including creation of archival backups for shows and maintenance of the archives. Fulfill all data restoration requests.

  • Monitoring and forecasting disk space utilization across all shows, intervening when necessary.

  • In collaboration with stakeholders:

Analyze current, and forecast future render farm load.

Negotiate license and other subscription deals and estimate software license requirements.

  • Supervision of other team members, assigning and delegating work and tasks.

  • Training and mentoring of members of the team.

You need:

  • Experience in Computer Science, VFX Production, high-end Game Production, or equivalent, with wide range familiarity with file formats for 3D, FX, and composition work.

  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • A passion for organising and optimising data and its throughput, applying good judgment and prioritisation wherever applicable.

  • Knowledge and experience of UNIX/Linux operating systems.

  • Scripting or programming experience, e.g. Python, C/C++.

Experience in the following areas are desirable:

  • Rudimentary database knowledge (e.g. Oracle, Postgres, MongoDB, Cassandra).

  • Knowledge of tape backup systems.

  • Proven data driven decision-making.

  • Working knowledge of Shotgrid.

Almost a third of the office consists of social areas where the pirates gather to have lunch and celebratory fikas, get company updates, participate in fussball tournaments, and hang out for Friday beers.
