Project Manager - Battery Systems

Northvolt has an exciting job offer for a Project Manager to join our growing team in Stockholm.

In joining us you will play an important part from the very start in taking part of developing li-ion battery systems to the electromobility and energy storage system applications. Northvolt will play an important role in the transformation to a carbon free society.

At the Module & Pack division at Northvolt, we develop full Li-ion battery systems including both cooling system and software. We are now in the stage of designing and industrializing our concept and therefore we are looking for a Project Manager to take responsibility the full way from design to manufacturing of our solution.

You will manage the project team and interact closely with different engineering teams, business development, quality, industrialization, sourcing and manufacturing to secure a complete project delivery. You will be responsible for the project deliveries and report to both internal and external steering committees for the projects. You will also work with a broad perspective from high level prerequisites and concept development in the early phases to the later project phases managing planning, development and delivery. In addition to this, you will take an active role in developing future ways of working with project management at Northvolt.

You have experience of working as a project manager within automotive/industrial product development or from the energy sector. You are familiar with working with customer oriented projects and are used to being the link between the customer and your company. You are an expert on planning and coordinating activities, you get things done and will exceed the customer expectations.

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Plan, organize, direct and follow up on project related activities
  • Ensure delivery of the project activities
  • Lead the project team towards the project goals
  • Help the team to perform and innovate
  • Facilitate communication and clarification of technical requirements between customers and Northvolt's internal stakeholders

Skills & Requirements

Education/Experience

  • MSc Degree within relevant field or comparable work experience
  • 5+ years of experience in a project/program manager role
  • Ability to define and execute a project using project management techniques
  • PMP Certification is considered a merit but not a requirement
  • Ability to communicate at management level both internally and externally
  • Proven results in meeting customer requirements and expectations
  • Must have worked in multi-cultural environment

Specific Skills/Abilities

  • Excellent English written and oral skills, Swedish is a plus
  • Highly organized and result-driven
  • Proactive and goes beyond expectations
  • Exceptionally good communication skills in a structured way

About the company

Northvolt was founded in 2016 with the mission to build the world’s greenest battery cell, with a minimal carbon footprint and the highest ambitions for recycling, to enable the European transition to renewable energy. Northvolt’s team of experts is building the next generation battery cell factory focused on process innovation, scale and vertical integration. Once completed, it will be Europe’s largest battery cell factory and produce 32 GWh worth of capacity annually.
