Job Description

Contrast is building the best eCommerce development and design team in the Nordics and is looking for a skillful Senior Frontend Developer to join their team!

As a Senior Frontend Developer, you will be responsible for quality-driven frontend development of digital commerce solutions for brands like Muurla, Makia and Ruokaboksi, to name a few. Typically, you will work with the Contrast team on one client project at a time. At Contrast you won’t be constantly jumping between projects, but instead you are able to focus on one thing at a time, creating appealing and easy-to-use solutions. The solutions are built with modern technologies such as JavaScript, TypeScript, React.js and Next.js. Contrast applies battle-tested software development best practices and continuously looks for ways to improve.

You might be the perfect match to the Contrast team if you have solid experience with JavaScript, TypeScript and React.js, ideally with Next.js too. We hope you share our passion for building eye-catching frontends and UI with clean and robust code. Most importantly, we are looking for a person with enthusiasm for continuous learning as part of a professional, yet fun team and willingness to help ambitious brands grow online by creating best-in-class eCommerce experiences.

What you could expect from Contrast:

  • A small but passionate team of creative and driven minds that believe life is too short for bad digital shopping experiences

  • The freedom to be yourself and to express your ideas. No dress-codes or micromanagement. Results are what matter to us.

  • A chance to work with exciting brands and to make an impact on their success with visual and functioning digital commerce solutions

  • Possibilities for professional development - you will be given autonomy and responsibility for your projects, and you could also grow into an even more senior role in the future

  • An employer that truly values healthy work-life balance - we believe in doing less but better

  • Flexibility to work remotely. However, we would like you to join your team regularly at our office in the heart of Helsinki

Contrast is looking for a person with:

  • A few years of experience in software development, focusing on frontend and UI

  • Strong skills in JavaScript, TypeScript and React.js. Skills in Next.js are considered as an additional asset

  • Experience with test-driven development in a development team is considered a big plus

  • A quality focused mindset as well as ambition to learn and take your development skills further

  • Full working proficiency in English

In this full-time position you will be employed directly to Contrast.

Would you like to create best-in-class eCommerce experiences for ambitious brands?

Please submit your CV or LinkedIn profile (motivation letter optional) by the latest 4th of December via our application system.
