Quality & Risk Support Specialist to KPMG Audit & Assurance

  • Application Deadline: Dec. 11, 2022
  • Stockholm
  • Application Deadline: Dec. 11, 2022
  • Stockholm

Are you passionate about both technology and people and enjoy working with structural tasks related to compliance and quality? Are you interested in strengthening our quality management in the Audit & Assurance practice? Then this is the role for you!

Quality is essential to ensure the trust that the market, customers, partners and employees should feel. Quality and trust go hand in hand. We need to work in the same way and with the same quality goals no matter where our customers are located.

The International Auditing and Assurance Standards Board (IAASB) is an independent standard-setting body that serves the public interest by setting high-quality international standards for auditing, quality control, review, other assurance, and related services, and by facilitating the convergence of international and national standards. IAASB released the International Standard for Quality Management 1 (ISMQ1) effective for all firms providing audit services effective Dec 2022.

ISMQ1 requires us to design a system of quality management, which in KPMG cases translates into identifying risks and establishing controls in 10 components. For each component, KPMG Sweden, with its subsidiaries in Latvia and Lithuania, has been developing, adapting and implementing controls in line with existing processes to reduce the risk that goals are not met. The main focus has been on the Audit practice. On an ongoing basis, the controls will then be tested and deficiencies in these shall be rectified at the same time as an analysis is made of the cause.

Your role
You will have an important role in ensuring the quality goals are met and the policies complied with. You will be responsible for the logistics of the controls on a fiscal year basis, i.e., the controls are initiated, performed and documented.

According to the international timeline announced by KPMG Global and together with the local SoQM Lead, you will monitor and implement changes to existing controls and assign appropriate roles for preparation and approval.

You will also have an important role coordinating the Audit Quality Programs within Audit & Assurance supporting the Program leaders. The programs are running on a yearly basis, and you will participate throughout the year in planning, coordinating, follow up and reporting the results.

You will be working close to the Audit & Accounting Leadership team to establish the control processes and make them efficient and adapted to the Audit operation. Together with the Quality & Risk function, SoQM Lead and the Risk Management Partner, you will ensure the process efficiency.

To support the control processes, IT tools have been developed and new tools may be identified as needed. As the business owner, you will be responsible for the operational management and support of the tools, including developing user guidelines, and communication to the Audit & Assurance function setting requirements. You will also be coordinating and requesting development needs from Technology Services, who will support with the technical management maintenance.

You will

  • Initiate monthly, quarterly, and annual controls and policies
  • Design and create control descriptions for new and changed controls
  • Collect the outcome of confirmations and other enquiries
  • Prepare and maintain procedural documents for SoQM processes, including audits
  • Support and manage IT-tools for SoQM implemented for the Audit & Assurance function
  • Support and coordinate the yearly Audit Quality Programs
