CG Supervisor

We are looking for a CG Supervisor to join the Ship. As a CG Supervisor you possess a broad skill set and knowledge that spans across multiple disciplines, taking all aspects, disciplines and phases of VFX production into consideration in your decision making. You are a key technical expert and as part of the core team of a show, you will closely collaborate with the VFX Supervisor, Production Manager and the other Supervisors to deliver the show according to the VFX-supervisors vision and globally set goals for the show. You are instrumental in technical decision-making to help determine technical/workflow approaches and requirements.

Your work will include:

  • Implementing and overseeing workflows and tools defined globally and discussing show-specific workflows with relevant stakeholders.

  • Working with VFX- and Discipline Supervisors to problem solve creative and technical issues and make sure they are up to date with current global and show specific workflows.

  • Promoting ownership and responsibility within the team and providing opportunities for artists to grow.

  • Contributing to positive work environment & team building.

  • Leading by example, providing artists with support, guidance for their personal development, and constructive feedback specific to the project.

  • Mentoring key senior artists in the team, providing advice and feedback as well as leadership support and guidance.

  • Closely collaborating with R&D team and other stakeholders to go to the root cause of issues, build consensus, define and develop strategies and workflows aligned with the companies directions and constraints.

  • Supporting other Supervisors in the implementation of existing as well as new discipline related workflows.

You need the following:

  • Passion and drive for everything VFX.

  • Extensive experience in industry standard DCCs, e.g Houdini & Nuke.

  • Experience as CG Supervisor within the VFX Industry.

  • Excellent communication skills in English; both written and verbal.

  • Ability to remain calm and confident in a fast-paced environment.

  • Technical and creative problem solving with a can-do mindset.

  • Strong technical understanding of CG pipelines and the ability to specify efficient workflows and identify additional tools required.

  • Scripting experience, preferably Python.
