Startup Partner:Hodi

Hodi is building a platform to enable Kenyan talent to access work with global companies.

At the heart of Hodi’s approach is a custom tech platform, used in day-to-day execution as well as for training new hires.

Their mission is to create 1,000 dignified, digital jobs in Nairobi in the next 3 years, enabled by a uniquely scalable platform for talent management and retention.

Project Description

The company is looking for an experienced Account Manager who will play a key role in sourcing and closing deals, as well as ensuring success for its clients.

Your primary role will be selling Hodi’s services to new clients. You’ll be working closely with Hodi’s co-founder to identify leads, hold initial discovery/demo conversations, and close deals.

For all deals you close, you’ll also play an active role in the success of that engagement.

You’ll serve as the account lead - responsible for orchestrating Hodi's outreach strategies, providing proactive input on how they can improve, and building relationships with Hodi's clients, typically Founders and Sales leaders at VC-backed startups.

Post the 3-month immersion experience, this engagement will evolve into an "Account Manager" role.

Key Project Deliverables

  • Identify high-potential businesses and develop and execute outbound strategies to bring them to Hodi
  • Develop and lead outbound campaigns from idea generation through to qualified calls
  • Launch and test new outbound lead generation channels and determine how best to scale them
  • Develop and codify best practices and sales workflows for scaled and bespoke interactions with prospects
  • Take responsibility for the account management of clients, identifying opportunities for growth, managing risks, and overall building high-quality relationships with the relevant stakeholders.

Skills & Requirements

  • Client-Focused: You will be the primary point of contact for all of Hodi's clients. This means that the ideal candidate will go above and beyond for clients, listening to their needs and finding ways to solve the challenges at their businesses.
  • Sales Experience : Hodi is selling a sales product to a sales persona, so past experience in cold outreach and full-cycle sales is extremely relevant. While the product is pretty different from existing solutions, there is a preference for candidates who can speak the language of B2B sales from past experience.
  • Exceptional Communication : Hodi represents global brands and reaches out to customers around the world. In this role, you’ll be responsible for selling to and building relationships with clients - leaders of VC-backed startups. You’ll need to be quick on your feet and creative.
  • Obsessed with Feedback & Growth : A key responsibility will be providing feedback and suggested improvements to improve the quality of work on the team. Past experience in providing continual feedback to direct reports and peers will be a bonus.
  • Location: Flexible, but with a strong preference for a time zone in the range of Nairobi to San Francisco.
