Sogeti Ireland are seeking applications for a Business Development Manager to join our growing Sales team to drive further growth within our Digital and Development Practice.

The successful candidate will be an experienced IT Services professional who is ambitious, confident, and enthusiastic with a ‘can-do’ attitude. Supported by dedicated Pre-Sales Solution Architects, you will have responsibility to drive the next phases of growth within our Digital and Development practice by crafting the best solution offering to meet our client’s needs.

Leveraging the strength of the local and global capabilities of the Capgemini group, you will use your network and specific industry knowledge to understand and develop new clients by bringing innovative solutions and approaches to their challenges. You’ll be tasked with developing key stakeholder relationships, participating in tender activities, regularly liaising with technical colleagues and presenting comprehensive proposals for engagements that leverage the technical strengths of the group.

Key responsibilities

  • Having the ability to understand our technology service offerings and communicate them to potential customers.
  • Working with our internal teams, to create fresh and effective go to market campaigns for our offerings e.g. Cloud Transformation, Application development
  • Strategically developing a pipeline of new business opportunities through both new and existing contacts
  • Understand client issues and challenges, positioning our portfolio offering to provide best in class solutions in response
  • Manage and qualify inbound leads
  • Assisting with the preparation and delivery of tenders and bids alongside portfolio leads/team managers
  • Expertly manage complex sales cycle, including contract and commercial negotiations
  • Building and maintain relationships with clients in order to continually grow new business
  • Taking accountability for accurate business development forecasting
  • Working alongside the account managers, assisting them in nurturing existing client accounts wherever required
  • Preparation and delivery of presentations and solution proposals and the active management of your forecast and the full sales cycle for each deal you deliver.
  • Maintain the highest standard of work, working towards the overall success of Sogeti clients
  • Whilst digital and cloud services will be the primary focus, should you identify other opportunities within your dedicated accounts, you can also progress these deals to conclusion

Skills & Requirements


  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field
  • 5-10 years’ experience in IT professional services sales or Technology Solution
  • Experience in selling services related to either Technology transformation, Application Development and Cloud Services in last 5 years
  • Demonstrate a commitment to personal performance, and a history of success exceeding annual sales targets
  • Experience selling to technical buyers, preferably CTOs and Heads of Product Marketing , CMO and CIO.
  • Ability to navigate large complex organisations
  • Ability to produce winning proposals by providing appropriate leadership to the technical teams with meticulous attention to detail
  • Understanding of how new technologies assist with solving today’s business challenges with the ability to define problems, collect information and present solutions
  • Outstanding organisational, time management and multitasking skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills across all buyer personas (individual contributor to C-level)
  • A logical and methodical sales process
  • Intellectual curiosity; someone who strives to understand everything about the market and the needs of our customers in order to provide a compelling solution
  • Consultative selling attitude and style

Nice to have

  • Previous experience within a consulting type organisation a distinct advantage
  • Some prior selling/preselling experience Technology Solution or Service
  • Has some technical knowledge of the Microsoft Product Suite or Technology Stack or PowerApps toolset
  • Possess good network and strong knowledge of the target markets will be advantageous
