General Summary

Are you a designer looking to start a career in publishing? Then we may have the perfect role for you! We are seeking a dynamic, creative and passionate candidate to join our fantastic publishing team as a design support and sales material creator.

Based in rural Sywell in Northamptonshire, the successful candidate will work on a wide range of titles across all of our publishing teams, from the planning stage right through to publication.

You’ll be creating cover concepts, coming up with fantastic cover designs, working with all of our brilliant artwork, helping to make sales material and much more!

Key responsibilities

To support our Publishing teams by working on a variety of design tasks, including but not limited to: sales material creation, sales requests and sell sheets. Additionally, this role also involves creating high-quality quality dummy versions of our books, working alongside a colleague in the Sales Material Team.

Design Support

  • Create sell sheets of our products
  • Curate and communicate the sell sheet style guide
  • Create designs for new covers and book interiors, and support other designers with these as required
  • Update advance image guidelines
  • Create product catalogues as required
  • File management support
  • Model making for QC, testing and cover photography
  • Some basic photography of our books and other products
  • Co-partner image requests
  • Create 3D images and mock-ups

Sales Material Creator

  • Create high-quality physical dummies and/or boards of our books, to schedule
  • Managing image requests
  • Adding images into the sales feedback form to support key meetings
  • Monitor sales material deadlines and communicate with teams
  • Log completed and updated dummies

Qualifications and Experience

  • Software knowledge: Indesign (essential), Photoshop (ideal)
  • Some design knowledge and bags of creativity
  • Strong communication skills
  • Excellent problem solving and trouble-shooting skills
