Background
Hurtigruten is going through change - change at virtually all levels of the business. We have recently opened a second headquarters in London and are growing rapidly across all our teams including Sales & Marketing, Commercial, Operations, and Expeditions.
Reporting to the SVP of Expeditions and working closely with our Expedition Product Director we are looking for a highly capable Deployment & Itinerary Director to own the development and execution of the fleet deployment strategy.
Position
As a Deployment & Itinerary Director, you will have close interaction with our Revenue and Commercial teams to enable high-performing itineraries.
Our ideal candidate will establish and deliver on long-term and short-term fleet strategies. Constantly optimizing fleet deployment to maximize profitability, as well as recommending redeployments if itineraries are not performing.
Your day-to-day
Responsible for creating itineraries in close consultation with the Expedition Product Director for any given region.
You will coordinate nautical itinerary planning with Marine Operations to ensure itineraries and ports are booked.
Create and maintain tools that show the profitability of each itinerary, enabling better deployment decisions.
Synthesize commercial and competitor insights to ensure HRX has a competitive edge.
Work closely with Expedition Product Managers in necessary product changes, improvement, and profitability of voyages.
Ensure a commercial mindset in all deployment decisions and act as a commercial voice within the product development team.
Maintain close interaction before and after voyages to ensure turnaround ports are feasible.

Experience & Qualifications
Minimum 5 years of working experience within relevant travel and/or tourism industries.
Strong experience with commercial and/or analytical work.
Masters/Bachelors Degree within related fields such as Business, Marketing, Travel & Tourism would place you in good stead.
Fluent in English - both written and spoken.
Fluent in another language - particularly, Norwegian, German or French would be desirable.
