Hurtigruten is going through change - change at virtually all levels of the business. We have recently opened a second headquarters in London and are growing rapidly across all our teams including Sales & Marketing, Commercial, Operations and Expeditions.

Reporting to the SVP of Expeditions and working closely with Asta Lassesen (CEO - Expeditions) we are looking for an experienced Expedition Product Manager to be the end-to-end owner for the design, development, implementation, and smooth handover of itineraries in one of our many expedition destinations. This role will also include close collaboration interfaces with our Operations, Commercial and Revenue management teams.

The responsibilities include research, destination scouting, themes and concepts, science programs, F&B programs and onboard programs.


As an Expedition Product Manager, you will help promote Hurtigruten Expeditions ensuring sustainability and exploration remain at the core. You will work with business leaders, managers, employees, and our customers across our international locations.

Our ideal candidate has prior expertise in managing, developing, and booking an expedition or travel experience for customers from end to end. You will have experience in finding the right balance between providing a customized local experience and staying in alignment with global processes and programs.

You will also be familiar with best practices in educating team members and employees on how best to provide top-class service in developing our expedition product all the while conforming to local and global labour laws. Skills & Requirements

Your day-to-day

  • Responsible for close alignment and smooth handovers with Commercial. Working together to develop an appealing sales-performing product in line with the HRX mission and ensure smooth and efficient collaboration in the product development and launch phase.

  • Work closely with and train Customer Success Consultants to ensure seamless guest interactions.

  • You will have ownership of commercial performance in our many regions. You will also initialize product changes, and deployment changes and push changes by other functions to improve performance if needed.

  • Work closely with our Operations division. Ensuring necessary involvement of Operations and sea resources during product development.

  • Handover an inspiring and operationally feasible destination product in several batches before the voyage and be on call to support the ship during a voyage if needed.

  • Responsible for a high-performing NPS. In addition, drive insight and product improvements from voyage evaluations, feedback from ship staff and guests, and commercial performance, ensuring key learnings are documented for future use.

  • Maintain alignment with product managers in other regions to ensure the HRX product is consistent where necessary and standardise handover routines to Operations and Commercial teams to simplify collaborations.

Experience & Qualifications

  • Minimum 6 years of working experience within relevant industries.

  • Strong experience with product development or field operations in relevant regions.

  • Fluent in English - both spoken and written.

  • Masters/Bachelors Degree within related fields such as Business, Marketing, Travel & Tourism would place you in good stead.

  • Fluent in another language - particularly, Norwegian, German or French would be desirable.
