Job Description

We are currently looking for an ambitious and energetic Senior Sales Manager to help us expand our footprint in the condition monitoring system’s (CMS) market in Sub-Saharan Africa.

Our sales are primarily within turn-key projects for implementation of condition monitoring systems including engineering, assembly, installation, commissioning, and personnel training. That’s why we’re looking for an individual with long-term mindset and experience in project sales.

Leveraging your intimate knowledge of, and network within, the market you will grow an end-user sale of online systems within steel, mining, pulp & paper, automotive and F&B industries. You will also identify suitable target markets for expansion, and drive demand directly with end users.

You will have a strong technical background in Control/SCADA systems or in Process Equipment of above mentioned industries, and will have a proven track record in business development or sales.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Execute a growth strategy for a portfolio of SPM condition monitoring systems in the Sub-Saharan Africa market.

  • Sales and marketing including customer presentations and technical sales calls, test installations, proposal development, contract negotiations.

  • Provide pre-sales support to end-users including coordination with SPM technical support team working remotely.

  • Identify target markets for expansion and drive sales and demand directly with end users.

  • Maintain detailed reports of sales pipeline week over week and provide committed monthly orders forecasts.

  • Primary duties are related to scheduling of the virtual and on-site presentations of condition monitoring systems, arranging of criticality/reliability audits of the plants (audits to be executed by others), acquiring of initial information required for preparation of the offers and coordination with technical team during this process, following up of submitted quotations on the budgeting stage and guiding the project through purchasing process.

Skills & Requirements
  • Proven track record, with at least 5 years in sales roles within the Automation / Process equipment market in Sub-Saharan Africa
  • Strong technical proficiency in Automation or Process equipment.
  • Excellent writing and communication skills.
  • Interpersonal skills and ability to build trusted relationships with clients.
  • Proficiency in MS Office.
  • Willingness to travel – approx. 60% of time.
