Working as a Software Engineer at Sectra Medical Education

Our engineers ensure that Sectra can effectively deliver products that solve the right problems for our end-users. We strive to make solutions that are easy-to-use, easy-to-deploy, future-proof and effective, and pride ourselves in truly understanding our customers' environment and needs.

Our DevOps team is organized into an agile, self-organized group with a shared passion for technology who together are responsible for both the design, implementation, delivery and quality of our products.

Life at Sectra

We take what we do seriously and prioritize the work ourselves after input from customers and stakeholders at Sectra. However, we like to have fun as well and want and encourage all our employees to explore their own ideas. For example, every six weeks, a two day “RAD Friday” is arranged where all our engineers have the opportunity to work on their own ideas. Ideas that often are incorporated into our products.

Take this opportunity to also work with different cultures. We have customers in over 60 countries, and the Education team consists of colleagues from Europe, the Americas, and Asia. All members of the DevOps team are based in Linköping.

Skills & Requirements

At Sectra, we hire for attitude and ability — train for skill. This means who you are is more important than your previous experiences. There are a few core abilities that are central for any role. We always look for your willingness and ability to learn and take on new tasks fast, utilize previous experiences and quickly grasp new information. We also want you to have a strong analytical mindset, since we consider your ability to understand, break down and solve problems very important. We also look for good communicators who have the ability to interact with colleagues, partners and customers in an effective, clear and constructive way.

In addition to these abilities, we also want you to:

  • Have a Master’s degree within engineering, IT, or similar with a strong academic record
  • Have a strong interest in new and innovative technology and software development
  • Be fluent in English both verbally and written
  • Value customer contact and thrive in a fast-paced technological environment

A plus if you have experience with any of the following:

  • Have experience with Azure cloud platforms and services and API design
  • Have experience with PACS or medical enterprise solutions
  • Speak more languages than those required above
  • Have interests besides school/work, such as sports, music, horseback riding, singing, or flying for example
