We are looking for a dedicated and driven Mechanical Site Engineer in the field for our Northvolt Revolt Department, to join us in our mission to contribute to build the recycling plant for the world’s greenest batteries.

The role will be a part of our passionate Revolt Ett team based in Skellefteå.

About the job

The recycling process consists of the mechanical pre-treatment processes and chemical hydrometallurgical processes.

The Mechanical Site Engineer will be responsible for quality control, supervision and coordinating with multiple disciplines and supporting the safe, on-time and on-budget delivery in the agreed mechanical scope of works.

An important part of the job is to be the support to the Project Manager, Mechanical Engineers, internal and external stakeholders, contractors, and equipment vendors to execute and deliver the first recycling giga-factory. As the Mechanical Site Engineer, you will get the chance to have a real impact on our success story and see the results of your work. Key Responsibilities Include but are not limited to:

  • Ensure that the installation is in accordance with the company approved design, quality, and schedule, as specified in the design documentation, quality plan, and installation schedule.

  • Ensure that the contractors do not compromise on safety, and at a minimum comply with the site HSE plan and Northvolt safety procedures and policies

  • Provide schedule and progress information to the management as and when required

  • Facilitate all 3rd party inspections at pre-determined milestones to ensure that the mechanical installation complies with the installation drawings and manuals and contracted deliverables.

  • Facilitate the handover of the approved installation to the commissioning and/or operations team

  • Being the client representative at all site mechanical inspections.

Skills & Requirements

Education/Experience:

  • MSc/BSc Degree within Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 10 years experience in heavy industry installation and/or maintenance, i.e., HVAC, piping, rotating equipment, and all related mechanical equipment.

  • Minimum 5 years in supervisory position

  • Previous experience with large scale projects with aggressive time schedules is strongly desirable but not essential

  • Experience with commissioning above mentioned disciplines is strongly desirable but not essential

  • Familiarity with Swedish and European laws and standards is strongly desirable but not essential

  • Experience from, and motivated to, setting up work methods and procedures from scratch, work with process evaluation and documentation.

Specific Skills/Abilities

  • Microsoft Office Experienced
  • Great communication skills as you will be in constant interaction with team members and external parties such as authorities and auditors.
  • Ability to create the structure necessary to provide the optimal conditions for team performance

Bonus

  • Welding Inspection or IWS/IWT/IWE

  • Familiarity with AutoCAD

  • Familiarity with using Navisworks or equivalent BIM tools to facilitate installation

  • Experience in FAT / SAT
